Where do I begin on t his one? Sears hired a subcontractor to install siding on our home. Told us it would be about 5 days to complete...took 5 WEEKS! The subcontractor was a disaster. They hired neighborhood kids to help romoe the siding and a c ouple of neighbors, none of which we knew to pick up debris. They did not cover our bushes/flowers, and insulation looked like snow on our yard and bushes!
They claimed they were "done" but had not re-attached the electrical meter, did not have a cover on the electrical outlet on the back porch, and some of the soffit was visibley crooked! The debris they left caused my wife to fall, and she sustained a head concussion and abrasion - about $4,000 in medical bills. The subcontractor claims they don't cover "pain and injury"...that is yet to be seen.
When wew complained aboout them, Sears sent them BACK to "finish up". We refused, and Sears then sent someone else to finish, which they eventually did for the most part, although we finally finished cleaning up the insulation in our bushes, flowers.
Although the project manager has admitted they uwe us some compensation, he is now stonewalling...we have left several messages for both him and his supervisor, but no callls returned. Also, the subcontractor's insurance company has said they willl "look into" the paint and suffering complaint, but they also have not returned calls.
We would NEVER again use Sears for something like this. What a mess - and disappointment!
