Sedgwick CMS has denied STD benefits to me for a ruptured disc that involves pressure on a nerve root affecting my right leg. I filed a claim in July 2007 and after four weeks of ridiculous reasons that my payments were delayed, I finally received four checks in one day.

I filed another claim for the exact same problem in January 2008 and was rudely assisted by Marilyn S(the same person that approved the previous claim) who denied my claim.

The denial letter stated that they were declining my claim because the company I work for does not authorize more than one day for epidural injections....but my physician did not excuse me from work because of the epidural.

Because my doctor stated in her notes that I had received an epidural injection(from a different doctor), Sedgwick honed in on that one thing even though my dr clearling stated I was off work due to the ruptured disc that was, and still is, causing me great pain.

I filed a new claim because of depression, which is a chronic condition, in March 2008. All the information requested from my doctor was faxed to Shane at Sedgwick, within the very short time constraints given.

He then calls me at 5:00 pm C.S.T(this is when they close) and states that since my depression had been mentioned as one of my medical problems in the previous claim for the problem with my back this claim in now linked to my

previous claim for my back which was denied.

Sedgwick now has all of my medical records from my doctor showing my visits for every ailment I've ever had.

So now every medical problem I've had ....allergies, hypertension, back problems, blood in my urine...you name it..they are trying to lump all of this

together, basically stating that whatever medical problems I'm having now are all connected to my back problem simply because my doctor has noted in my records that I suffer from depression(bipolar) which I've suffered from and been diagnosed with in 1982.

Sedgwick CMS denial of my claims has put me in dire financial straits, I'm paying bills with credit cards, my mortgage is 30 days past due. My water was turned off yesterday. I'm a 50 year old, single woman and am responsible for all of my own bills.

They are rude, incompetent, lack compassion and require you to jump through numerous hoops to comply with their request!!

I suggest that anyone that also has a problem with this company ....complain loudly!!!!
