Complaint Review: Sharon Medina - Chicago Illinois

I met this girl named Sharon Medina while attending my Continuing Education classes in order to renew my Ethetics License sometime at the end of July of 2013. While in class all she did was go on and on about how she is only there to get her 10 hours and leave and that she didn't give a d**n about whatever was being taught because all she does is eyelash extensions for a living. That she used to make so much money doing only that in Miami Florida and how she is the BEST at doing it and most people suck at it and that she came to Chicago to be with her mother and that she is also a certified Eyelash extension trainer and that if any of us are interested she will teach a course at her home. Now this girl has a big mouth, she screams drama queen, the kind you find on reality TV.

I found her to be crude, loud and obnoxious but I thought it was a good opportunity to learn something I was always interested in. So I contacted her about doing this class. She charges $300.00 for her class and she told me to meet her at her place and bring a friend I can practice on. So I traveled there to meet her, it was mid August 2013. Sharon Medina was very unhygienic in her methods I must say, what should I expect, her place was dirty, her tv was on and she kept talking about how great that movie is, it wasn't the right type of environment for training anyone. I still didn't have an issue at that point, I wanted to make the best of it. But she didn't even wash her hands before beginning, she had dirty nails and her appearance was sloppy but that's not the point and yet it's part of the point.

After I was done she said that she would send me the paper work which includes instructions on how to do eyelash extensions, this booklet was essential to the whole training it also included her signature there and the date which shows I completed the course. So she didn't have a copy of this booklet so she told me she would make a copy and mail it out that day. I gave her a check and she was hesitant about taking the check at first because of bad experiences with it, but I assured her that there would be no issue and that even if there was, I am not running away and I  would take care of it.

So, when I checked my bank the next day I found that my balance was low because quite a few auto-debits I wasn't expecting came out at the same time and I saw the my check was returned and I felt terrible because it's not something that happens to me. It was the first time and I sent her a text about it apologizing and she seemed calm, I then called her and explained the situation saying that she can re-deposit the check and I'll cover any fee she might have gotten. And she said okay I gave my rent and car payment hopefully it's fine, she told me that she believes her bank would re-deposit the check automatically 2 more times before returning it so I said okay and didn't worry about it because the funds were in there after I noticed the low balance (same day).

The next morning around 7am I get texts from her saying, "I'm so pissed off my rent check and, car payment bounced, you need to come here right now and give me my money and also pay my fees because there is no way I am paying those fees." She went on talking about how I don't know what a crazy b***h she is and what she is capable of as if I need threats in order to pay someone what they are due. It was disgusting because I would pay someone what I owe them without having to be pushed, after all I did contact her on my own to tell her the check was returned and to simply re-deposit it. She was acting like a drug dealer that got conned by me. I realized that she is of certain character, certain upbringing so she wouldn't treat me professionally but instead she acted like a drug dealer mentality (where's my money??? give me my money!)

I believe that if she was calm, the situation would have been resolved very quickly and easily but instead it escalated because of whatever s**t she was reflecting on me. No matter what I said to her all of a sudden I am a liar and she is taking me to court etc. It was laughable and ridiculous, I couldn't believe this was the way she handled obstacles. So I wire transferred her the money the same day she was threatening me and that was because she claimed that you can't redeposit the same check which I know she was wrong about, so I paid extra to wire it to get rid of the headache of having to deal with an immature idiot. I also gave her the tracking number, the wire I sent was being held because the account number I entered was wrong, there was an extra digit in there. I corrected it the same day but it was Friday then and the wire department is closed weekends so it would be held until Monday or Tuesday which I told her about but there is no reasoning with someone of her level, there is only name calling and trash talking back and forth.

Meanwhile she threatened to sue me again because she didn't believe I re-sent the wire even though I told her I did and she wanted the new tracking number, there was none for the correction. This girl was losing her mind and I had to call my bank with her on the phone to prove I sent it out and after she heard that she apologized to me saying I will send you a new kit because the kit she sent me home with (when I trained from her) was useless, it had old lashes, 2 used tweezers, an old tape almost finished and dirty, I basically threw it all away. So I was happy and apologized to her too. Time went by nothing in the mail, forget the kit, I couldn't care less about the kit, what I was supposed to get was the booklet that had the education on eyelash extensions and the paper that shows I completed the course she claimed to send out the very next day after I was at her place for training.

It is now the end of September and today I sent her a text saying that it is sad that she is so unethical in her dealings, she replied, basically she said that because of my returned check, she feels I don't deserve the paper work I paid for, so in other words she feels that she has a right to use her emotions and it is okay for her to steal my money and that I deserve it because of what she went through...doesn't matter what I went through, of course not the world revolves around her...  I sent her 325.00 and paid 30 bucks to send it as a wire and a fee was charged because of the wrong account number. Her bank took 40.00 out of the 325.00 and sent her 285.00. She was satisfied still according to her. I even offered to give this nut 15.00 more if she would let me pick up the paper work recently and she didn't reply to my texts, she only replied when I told her how sad it is that she is unprofessional and that I had to go get professional training from a reputable company and paid them even more.

It doesn't matter that I put a stop payment on my check because she demanded the money be transferred and on top of that she even tried to redeposit my check (that she claimed cannot be re-deposited, what a f**king liar) because she did not believe I was telling her the truth about the wire transfer. Sharon Medina should not be allowed to teach anyone anything, she doesn't know how to handle herself in a professional manner, she lies, deceives and steals. If Sharon Medina is representing Butterfly Lashes that trained her, she is really bringing the company down. She needs to pay me back for everything. She owes me 325 plus the other fees I paid to send her the money and put a stop payment on my check as well. She tried to blame me for her rent and car payment being returned based on just my 300.00 . So thousands of dollars bounce because she depended just on my 300.00 and I am some how responsible for her account being so low that she actually couldn't pay her rent and car payment? A girl who lives in a highrise in downtown Chicago who just paid thousands for plastic surgery that she was recovering from? Dealing with her is like dealing with a guest on the Jerry Springer show.
