On August 23, 2013, the Sharp 80LE857U television which I purchased on July 7, 2013 formed a permanent red line down the middle of the screen.  I immediately called Sharp to report the issue and was told that since this issue was not repairable but the TV being under a 1 year warranty, they would send me a replacement television.  Sharp Electronics hired NVC Logistics to deliver and install the replacement television, as well as take away the defective unit.  An NVC delivery team of 3 arrived at my apartment at approximately 8:00AM on Saturday, September 14, 2013 with a replacement television.  The defective television was wall mounted in my living room, with a 50 foot in-wall HDMI wire and power cable plugged into the TV.

The delivery team which Sharp Electronics hired was untrained in the handling of electronics and neglected to remove the HDMI wire and power cord from the defective unit.  Due to the size of the television, they struggled in removing it and shook and banged it.  The TV flickered on several occasions.   During the manhandling of the television, the HDMI wire got caught up in the metal of the wall mount against the wall, and partially tore thereby making the HDMI wire unusable.  Upon removing the old TV, the damage to the wire was noticed by one of the delivery guys, and then by me.   The delivery man apologized for the damage to the wire which they caused and indicated that it occurred due to it getting caught up in the wall mount them removing the old TV. The delivery team then mounted the new television, and upon plugging in the HDMI wire into the unit, we all noticed that no television was no longing receiving a signal via the HDMI wire due to the damage that they caused.  In addition, due to the power surge which was caused by failing to remove the power and HDMI wire, a power surge was sent to my Sony Receiver, blowing it out, as well as my DirecTV box.   Both of which were replaced, the Sony Receiver at my expense just hours after the delivery team left.  I immediately reported the issue to Sharp and for the last 2 months have been attempting to resolve peacefully; all I am asking for is the replacement and in-wall installation of a HDMI wire, as well as to be compensated for the Sony Receiver which was damaged.   On several occasions, Sharp agreed to assist with the damage caused by their agents, and even went as far as to schedule an installation company to come to my home to assess the damage.  On November 6, 2013, Sharp  responded to my complaint against them BBB.com indicating that they set up a appointment with a company called Installs.com to assess the damage but never followed through.  Then on November 20, 2013 William Puckett of Sharp emailed me and  instructed me to obtain an estimate of the damage and indicated that they would reimburse me for this, but again, did not follow through. On November 26, 2013, I was informed that despite their promises, they would not be assisting in repairing the damage caused by them.  This was after 2 months of back and forth and various promises.  Now I am taking this case to court but wanted to warn consumers to stay away from Sharp Electronics.

You are so WRONG!!!! Sharp is not the ppl who damaged your product. It was the THIRD PARTY that did. THEY are the ones LEGALLY responsable for ANY damages done to your property. To demand that Sharp take care of what was someone elses issue is a mistake on YOUR part. Might I also point out that you should always have a surge protector on ALL of your electronics. Im guessing you did not because your stuff blew out. But then again we ONLY have your word that THEY caused the damages to your equiptment. It wouldnt be beyond the scope of imagination that they were broken before and you would be looking to them to replace it. Not saying thats what happend but its more common then you would guess.

In order for you to get resolution, you would need to PROVE that THEY damaged your equiptment. And expecting them to just take your word for it is assinine. This is what is causing your issue. See even if they "jiggled" the power cord, thats not going to send the required amount of electricity through the line to blow external components. SHARP knows this. And thats why they are pushing back. That points to a bad job of wiring in your own home. For that to have blown out YOUR electronics, they would not  have been on a surge protecter and literally DOUBLE the amount of juice was shot back along the line. So you can see the problem they are having.

I would suggest that since the WORKERS who damaged your wall and cable DID NOT work for Sharp that you take it up with the company they DO work for. Otherwise you just look like youre attempting to get SHARP to pay for someone elses mistakes because they have deeper pockets then the company whos workers did mess your stuff up. That just makes you look like a scammer.

FYI: a HDMI and a TV power cord are EASILY pulled out by hand. In the future, if you plan on having others do your electronic hookups, be proactive and take some steps by UNPLUGGING the electronics and you MIGHT want to hit the breaker switch for that series of wall plugs on your main breaker box.
