I choose this company to design a web site for me. The agreement was to have the site designed and to have it up and going in 2-4 weeks. This was back on 8-7-2007.

The agreement was to have this company design a website and I was to pay 1/2 down and the other half when the site was complete. I payed the half down to begin the proccess.

After the time frame was up I started emailing them to see what the deal was and why the site was not done. They continued to give me the run around for a month.

They kept saying it will be a few days, then they are having problems, and the list goes on and on. I started to get worried that I had been scammed in the last few weeks and proceeded to contact paypal.com about this issue. They told me to just try to work with them and give them the benefit of the doubt. So I did so. Finally I had had enough. I had paid 1087.00 and never received anything. After a final talk with paypay.com they told me I had been scammed and due to the length of time that had passed they could not help me get my money back.

Sherry Johnson the owner, new what she was doing! She uses paypal.com as a front to hook line and sink. She is well aware of there 45 day rules for getting refunds. Paypal.com told me to file an ic3 report with the FBI and I did. They also told me they would fully cooperate with authorities in tracking her down and releasing documents that pertain to her and her account with paypal.com.

I also filed charges with my local police department for theft. The same day i did this she began her running game. She shut her phones down, website down and hit the road. She is wanted for theft and I assume other things as well. She occasionally uses myspace.com to try to do cons. You can go here to see a picture of her if it is still up. I have been told she is an illegal citizen and not even American. Hopefully she is caught and deported and then put in jail. Her known address is:

The lady I had been in contact with this whole time is Sherry Johnson at yanica.net. After confronting her through email and calling paypal.com (11-08-2007) her site was no longer up on the internet. She ripped me off over a thousand dollars. I never got anything from this company at all. The last thing she sent me was an email saying she would not refund my money and was going to file chapter 11. Sherry J. is a crook and so is yanica.net the company she uses as a front for her crime spree. BEWARE do not do any business with this women or company, if you have please contact the FBI and give them any information that you have on her.

Yanica.net has some nice web designs. I do not know what happened that a person was ripped off, but I do believe a full refund and a web design is in order. Good luck to anyone who has been ripped off. Here are some of yanica.net web designs: http://www.blackrainrecords.com/# http://www.tapeartist.com/home.html http://www.susantlindau.com/

Registrant information is a direct violation of ICANN rules. The "contact for address" is the violation. You could try the phone number listed but don't be surprised if it doesn't work. You could contact the hosting service listed to complain about the refund and the FACT that the domain registration does not list an address as required by ICANN rules. Somehow, I suspect you might not be the only person looking for a refund. Good luck. NOW YANICA.NET HAS SET HERE SERVER TO BLOCK ME FROM ACCESS!!!!

#4Author of original report

Now Sherry Johnson AKA YANICA.net has blocked me from access to her site. This can't stop me though. I just reset my ip and boom I'm in. Why go to these extremes to keep my money? She has a page up now that says site is under construction. I just can't figure it out. Why she wants to change everything, just to get out of giving me a refund? Well to all you out there, BE WARE, trust your instinct when doing business over the internet. If you feel something is wrong don't wait you could end up like me, trying to fight to get your money back. DO you research, on a business to make sure they are legit. Don't trust a third party like PAYPAL to keep you safe. This will not always pay off. Especially, if you are paying thousands of dollars for a service or goods. Thanks for the rebuttal, if anyone knows what else I can do to get my money back please let me know!!!!!

suspicious website

The rebuttal states the website is being "reconstructed." What is suspicious about this is that the website www.yanica.net redirects to Google search engine. A website that is under construction or under "reconstruction" normally stays put with a homepage that states just that - not redirect to a search engine. Hmmmmph! I'm siding with the OP on this one.

Sherry Johnson - YANICA.NET THE CROOK!!

#6Author of original report

This is a lie!! She is still trying to scrounge up any little credibility she has by blatantly lying to her customers! FACTS About Yanica.net AKA SHERRY JOHNSON: 1. She is not registered with the secretary of state in NY as a business! 2. She has not filled income taxes on any of her web design projects. 3. She monitors her calls and only answers phone numbers she does not recognize. 4. She has does not have workers compensation for her organization or whatever you call it. 5. She does not have any liability or any sort of insurance which is required by the state of New York. 6. She does not have an employer identification number or EIN which is required by federal law in order to do business in the United States 7. The VERY SAME DAY I told her I was going to call the authorities for internet fraud and file complaints against her and her company her site was no longer up?????????? 8. Paypal.com told me themselves I had been a victim of a new type of fraud that use to be done in the mail 9. A reputable company would show proof of there work or refund a customers money that has waited 3 MONTHS for a website that was promised in writing to be done in 2 to 4 weeks in writing! 10. This is a quote she sent me through email on THE SAME DAY I ASKED FOR A REFUND: QUOTE: I do not make enough money to deal with this kind of stress and am filing chapter 11.For the record, I have recently taken ill - possibly with Multiple Sclerosis, doctors do not know what is wrong with me, so I barely run this company nor do web design work as much. I had planned to close my business soon. WOW someone who is redeveloping there website sure seems like they are not sick nor do they planed to close???????????? All this could have been avoided if a refund had been given to me for services i never received. SO PEOPLE ARE NOT WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE. If needed I have proof of contracts and emails to substantiate my claims.

Response to Complaint

#7REBUTTAL Individual responds

Fri, November 09, 2007

This customer who made the complaint is making very false accusations about my good standing and I would like to respond to this matter immediately. First of all, he has lied about myspace, he has lied about my phone number being taken off. And our website is currently under reconstruction. It is NOT taken down because of him. Our site should be back up within a few weeks. My number has always been on, so I think that is humorous! He has falsely said I was not American amongst other things (which I have proof that I am). He paid $1,000 for a website. I initially told him it would take 30-40 days to complete the site - maybe a little longer if he requested revisions. He did not provide a "specific" deadline and waited to the last minute to request a refund. His website was already 92% complete and I told him this. I even told him I could send his website files and he was always provided with a link to review edits to his website. I cannot issue a refund once work has already started on the site and at the stage that it was in. It was just about complete already. I also told him we need about a week to complete it in its entirety. But he was too impatient. The "real" reason" why he canceled his site was because he prematurely got advertisers and investors to invest into his new company. When his site was delayed (due to his many requests for revisions), advertisers started to pull out. He was concerned about investors pulling out also. So he wanted to "recoup" the money he had already lost. When he realized that I was not going to issue a full refund, he called Paypal and other organizations (along with Ripoffreport.com) to make false accusations (which we will be filing a legal claim with our attorney on this matter. I have been more than fair to this individual and even told him I would take off a few hundred dollars off his balance once the site is complete. But he refused. I have "never" had any major complaints about my business practices and this is actually the first time someone has made a report in this nature! I have always been fair to my customers and any time there was a problem, I have done my best to work with them. Building a website is very time consuming, and when you have heavy programming (such as his website), it takes even longer. Many customers think this whole process of web design is easy and it is not. When we rush on the development on a website, you wind up having many problems. I always try to take my time with a website to make sure it is fully functional and professional. If a customer has a specific deadline, I do my best to ensure that I meet those deadlines. In the case of this individual who have made these false claims, he did not give us a specific deadline at the beginning. He gave us 2 days notice that his website was to be complete or that he wants a refund. This is not fair to the designer who spent needless hours and worked hard at developing this individual's website. I surely am not running from anyone and in fact, contacted PayPal on this issue today (11/09/07) and asked for them to call me personally if they had questions. Sadly, this is just a case of "unhappy customer" retaliation and he would say anything to try to destroy my good reputation. I'm curious to see what accusations he will come up with next and everything he says will be saved for court filings on this individual. If you have any questions or need to contact me, please email: yanicaweb@yahoo Thank you.
