Shoe Mania in Manhattan only cares about money, not customer satisfaction.
I went to buy a pair of $150 shoes at Shoe Mania on Union Square in Manhattan. I wear a size 9.5, and the salesman told me that they don't come in half sizes, but that this brand was made specifically to fit 9 AND 9.5. They felt fine when I tried them on, but I still expressed concern that they were the wrong size. He said not to worry and that if they felt wierd I just need to wear them a bit to loosen them up.
After wearing them for 1 day, my feet were killing me so I went to return them. I was rudely informed by Mark Cohen, the owner, and Ahmed, the manager, that they do not refund worn shoes. I told them that the salesman lied to me, but they just yelled at me and told me to get out of the store and that I was not welcome back. I asked for the corporate phone number and Ahmed's last name, which they refused to give me. I found it on my own, called, and they of course told me that there was nothing they could do.
I proceeded to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, where I found that there was 15 other complaints filed with this company about the same thing.
These guys are crooks, plain and simple. I am currently filing a complaint with the Manhattan civil court.
