I booked a shuttlefare reservation online November 3. I booked a round trip from my home in Dobbs Ferry, NY to Newark airport and it quoted me a price and the site asked for payment of what it called the "Grand total paid" of $202.00. I did not understand when I was in the car at the airport they wanted my credit card to charge the fare. I was confused but in a hurry so I swiped my card and added a tip. It ends up I was being charged an extra fee they did not mention nor did it mention of the website anywhere! This happened again on my return dropoff. Again I was in a hurry as it was in the middle of the night and I was exhausted and couldn't understand why I was being asked for my credit card again. They charged extra fees of $22 to the airport and $26 for the return. This is $48 EXTRA that was not quoted nor explained! They originally replied to my email I submitted on their website and said I will receive a credit then a couple days later replied again and changed their mind and just brushed me off to the actual car service that they used and gave me a number. The Carmel place would not return my 4 or 5 calls. Then I tried shuttlefare again and they brushed me off saying it was their fees and there was nothing they could do. It is unacceptable business practices.
