I applied for Direct TV via the internet, which stated installation was free if installed within 15 days of receipt of certificate.

Direct TV was ordered on 11/1/01 and paid $39.95 on my visa card.

When I hadn't heard from them I called on 12/10/01. Skybox said they had a backlog and I will receive a certificate in the mail within one week. Then we are to call the 800# and serviceman will actually bring equipment.

the certificate was sent on 12/12/01. It arrived on 12/13/01, or 12/14/01. I called the 800# the same day the certificate arrived . I was advised that we could not get an earlier appointment than 1/5/02 to install.

12/28/01 a $189.00 installation fee was charged to my visa card without my knowledge or consent.

On or around 1/14/02, I contacted skybox again and I was asked to fax them the packaging list and agreement, which I did on 1/14/02. Fax # 770-476-3002.

1/17/02 Skybox customer service said my account was sent to the billing dept. and they will credit my visa account.

1/25/02 MY wife called Skybox many times before being connected at 335 pm ..customer service said billing dept should have taken care of this. My wife said it hasn't been taken care of. She was disconnected at 402pm. AT 413pm she talked to customer service again and was told they will call back with a confirmation code and they do all reimbursements after 500pm.

1/29/02 354pm My wife was put on hold then disconnected. She called back at 400pm and customer representative said it would be taken care of today!

1/30/02 Customer service representative said refund was done yesterday and will show up on my account in a couple of days.

2/4/02 customer service representative said to call back if refund is not in visa account within 4 to 8 days. Confirmation # was given at this time.

2/12/02 NO answer.

2/13/02 On hold three times. then said they were having refund system trouble (hackers), but will definetly take care of this .

2/22/02 Previous customer service representative no longer works there and it takes 2 to 3 weeks for a refund and will show up on next billing statement. WHICH IT DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALL FURTHER ATTEMPS TO CONTACT SKYBOX HAVE MET WITH AN ANSWERING MACHINE THAT SAYS TO CALL BACK LATER .

IT IS NOW MID APRIL 2002.

THIS JOINT IS A BIG RIP OFF. I DON'T THINK WE WILL SEE OUR MONEY AGAIN. WE SENT IN A BANK DISPUTE TO SEE IF THEY CAN RESOLVE THIS. WHY DOESN'T SOMEONE GET A LAYWER AND SEND THEM A NICE SIZED LAWSIUT? MAYBE THAT WILL SATISIFY ALOT OF CUSTOMERS THAT THESE CLOWNS RIPPED OFF. WE HAVE BEEN CALLING EVER SINCE, AND STILL WE HAVE NO REPLYS. MAYBE WE CAN GET THE SATELITES SYSTEMS FOR FREE, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. ANY HELP WOULD BE APRECIATED IN THIS MATTER...MAYBE IF ENOUGH PEOPLE GET INVOLVED WITH THIS , THINGS MIGHT CHANGE. I DOUBT IT. ...GOOD LUCK!!!!
