Complaint Review: SLEEK SURGICAL & MEDSPA - NEW YORK New York

I had a blepharosplasty surgery at Sleek Surgical & Medspa located at 800B Fifth Avenue New York,NY on October 13, 2012, the surgery was unsuccessful

I had chosen Sleek Sugical & Medspa for my blepharosplasty surgery as I had done months of research on blepharosplasty surgery that would successfully correct my condition and the consultation i had with the doctors at Sleek was right on cue with the months of reserch i had done on blepharoplasty surgery,i had done the reserch for two reasons, i wasn't taking any unknown risk with my eyes and that amount of money was a huge sacrifice for me,I had been saving up for four years, The cost for the surgery itself was $4200,plus the cost for two doctor visits to do a full blood work,an EKG and Chest X-ray all of which i had to pay for out of pocket as I didnt have medical insurance which cost me another $1700,

My condition was the result of a very dark period in my life when I went through a divorce, family separation the death of my mom and not working,I developed a bad case of insomnia which lead to developing huge bags under my eyes,I became less sociable,hardly make eye contact,in short I was very uncomfortable with my eye so I started researching blepharosplasty surgery and decided to sacrifice and save the money

I met with the doctor at sleek on 07/31/12 for a consultation,they gave me a detail instruction of the procedure which was going to be performed on my eyes, The procedure was they were going to put me to sleep make an incision under the eyelid remove the excess fat from under the eyes then remove a small amount of skin as there would be excess skin under the eye,I was comfortable with this procedure as it was on cue with what I had researched. However on the day of my surgery the surgeon Dr. Haramis did not follow this procedure ,he did not make any incision on my eyes to remove the excess skin all he did was "went under my lower eyelid from the inside and remove some fat" his words, I questioned him on this and he told me that after examinlng my eyes he was confident that at my age the skin under my eyes would bounce back,this never!

After months of waiting for some kind of positive result all I got was my pupils bulging with blood,couldn't see for weeks which rendered me helpless,after several trips back to Sleek to addresses my concerns with my eyes bulging with blood which they insisted that it was normal but I could tell they were getting worried After waiting for months they realized that the surgery wasnt successful. A few days after my visit to Sleek Surgical &Medspa I called in to discuss a the refund of my money,I was told by consultant that they had let Dr Haramis go and they offered to have the new surgeon redo the surgery on my eyes,I refused the offer and told them I want my refund instead,they set up an appointment for me to come into the office to discuss the refund however when I got there the clinic was gone,cannot reach anyone by phone or e-mail. It really puzzles that these people are allowed license to operate businesses throughout the U.S.A, where are the laws that suppose to protect the consumers,I am out thousands of dollars suffered enormous stress,could have ended up blind all because I trusted the system that says this doctor is licensed in the U.S.A therefore adequate to perform this procedure. how do I get my money back?
