A charge of $4.95 appeared on our bank account on 12/13/2007 as a hold on our account. I thought maybe it was something my husband purchased since we have been doing a lot of Christmas shopping online.

After further investigation, we realized that neither of us had made this charge from www.smartemarket.com (this is all that appeared on our bank statement). We quickly called our bank and had new bank cards ordered. It appears our bank had heard of this or had problems with it before because we asked if we would also need to change our bank account information and were told that the people doing this only had our card information.

I do not know if this is a result of our online shopping or if it is from leaving our bank card at a restaurant on accident a few weeks ago. We retrieved the card and I have been closely monitoring all charges since then. I also try to pay with paypal when possible for online purchases. Hope this might help anyone else with a fraudulent charge from this website!!!
