Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

SMG Global Network is an elaborate "ponzi/pyramid" scheme. They recruit victims with the phrase "want to be paid as a Talent Scout or A&R rep?"

The "pyramid/ponzi" scheme is as follows, To be an A&R Rep or Talent Scout you have to purchase an ID# via PayPal (contacted PayPal they do not care that their service is being used for a scam) in order to be paid a commission. A&R reps sign Talent Scouts who in turn book Show Cases and they both sign New Artists. SMG Global Network pays for each Talent Scout the A&R reps signs, covers cost of "show cases" the Talent Scouts book to recruit Artists and pays both for each new artist that signs. Yes this is to good to be true. So most in the music business do research to make sure this is not a rip off. The beauty of this "scheme" it has bold face lies and a fake company; "distributed by Universal Digital Music Group Distribution or Universal Music Distribution Group", (Universal Music Group Distribution Is The Real Company no affiliation). This fictitious company even has a bogus CEO Paul (Birdsong http://www.linkedin.com/pub/paul-birdsongs/62/4a3/472) and "unverified" press releases:

Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/26/2012 -- It was announced today by Paul Birdsongs, Chairman, Universal Digital Music Group Distribution. “Whenever you have the opportunity to distribute a Major Independent such as SMG Global Network, you take it,” commented Mr. Birdsongs. “We are thrilled to have this label as part of Universal Digital Music Group Distribution.”

"We are excited about the talent we have to offer already on our roster and I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries," said Nation Roper, Vice President of Operations SMG Global Network.

"I am thrilled with the potential of this opportunity that combines the amazing creative talents of SMG Global Network, along with the vision of Paul Birdsongs Chairman of Universal Digital Music Group Distribution and we are already underway with several artists in development, and look forward to sharing their work with music fans everywhere." said Nation Roper, Vice President of Operations SMG Global Network.

The paperwork that is sent once you pay for the ID# looks good real good and legitimate. SMG Global Network even had a "conference" call we were apart of. To date they've done a very good job in hiding the scheme until now. We had a client that was from Europe and SMG Global Network sent us W8 form for an overseas company but did not have the answers for the tax, compensation and conversion rate..that is when the pyramid box opened, the smoke started to clear and the ponzi scheme has become present.

Bungalo lied about SMG Global? We Asked Them

When you wrote that who ever reached out to BungaloRecords.com -and had a bad experience so they must have lied about what happened- made us think...in this industry bad mouthing others happens more often than not.

so we did a double check...

Paul Ring CEO of BungaloRecords.com informed us at one time in the past maybe 2 or 3 years ago they had a business relationship with SMG Global Network. That said relationship expired and BungloRecords.com had know interest in conutining or resigning SMG Global Network.

Now this is what is "FAKE" or should we say this is the "deciet"....SMG Global Network never informed any one that the deal they had with Bungalo Records had expired and was still signing Artists via YouTube videos with the premise they were affiliated with Universal Records and the truth is and was the deal via Bungalo had expired.

Mr. Ring also informed us that any one with a budget and marketing plan can reach out to BungaloRecords.com and deal with them directly there is no need to go through a third party to sign with them...

So with this information was SMG affiliated with Bungalo at one time? yes..

once that affiliation was over did SMG inform anyone they know longer have a deal? no...

you as the reader of this report tell me - is this a "FAKE" company?

it is just like a drivers license...it expired today you drive tommorow, get pulled over - will you get a ticket for driving with an expired license? yes

Is it fake? no.

is it valid? NO.

this is still a Ripoff to all those that paid to be affiliated with SMG Globl Network...

I actually know for a fact that they are not fake. If you look they have posted music with universal, and they cant do that, it is illegal. Also, the person who said called bungalo records and said they are fake is a lier. because bungalo wouldnt lie about it. They left SMG due to some issues, but to say they are fake is a lie. SMG was a legit label, to say they are not is stupid.

Multiple Facts SMG "did" lie, "ponzi" scheme..

fact..1

true reserached SMG regularly before we "paid" (more than once) to recieve all the paperwork necessary to join the organization and move up the executive ladder as well as participated in a "conference call".

fact...2

true contacted Universal as well as Bungalo records and SMG "never" had any kind of deal via "Universal"

fact....3

Paul Birdsong is a ficticous busines entitiy.  "This individual does not exist.."

fact.....4

true had a potential new label from overseas that was already established and shopping US & Canadian distribution. true Also had a production company from UAE very interested in a distribution deal via "Universal". Anyone in the Entertainment industry knows there are rules and laws that have to be followed in order to import and do business with in a foreign country....this was the begining of the obvious "ponzi scheme" that started to become clear..

last fact...

SMG Global was signing artists and uploading said signings to YouTube misleading new talent with the premise of "Universal Global Distribution" which they did not have... "a fake promise"

BOLD FACE LIES...

any questions or printed proof of this scheme feel free to contact us...

They are not fake. they actually were with Bungalo Records ( WERE ) Its the music industry and some times people jsut want money. If you contact Bungalo ( a division with Universal) you will see they are not fake.

Who EVER is signed with them as an artist HAS GOT TO DO THE GROUND WORK. some contracts are only a year or 2 etc.. but they ARE NOT a major record label, which means the arrtist has to keep doing their thing.  again contact bungalo and they will tell you They were with them. im not saying SMG is the most amazing label, but they are indeed real. go to youtube to see... also. again, check with bungalo and you will find proof they are real.

this report should be taken down completely due to you saying they are fake.  becuase they are not.

I am signed to SMG/UDMG and so far from my experience. I really have no idea what to think about this company. As an artist they require you to pay 300 dollars for a catolog number. I payed the money, but as a result they did indeed release my single on digital networks such as Itunes, Juno Download, Amazon, Rhapsody, etc. However, i believe they just distribute your product and expose it. I believe you have to do the footwork in promotion. My assigned A&R was Rod B Gutta. Im not sure if my song will get the exposure i thought it was going to get, but im not even a week in from my release date so i guess i should wait before i make any assumptions. I will keep you updated.
