Very sloppy installation and the roof has leaked from day-one.

Six months later I had to get another contractor to fix the roof.

They refused to pay for repairs.

Additionally, they say my "Lifetime warranty" is now void because I had someone else worked on my roof.

Here is the scoop folks the owner of Solar Shield Industries is Frank Mckinney and his main office location is 4441 SE 53rd Ave Ocala FL 34441 he has been taking on relationships with other contractors thruout Florida for over 10 years. His company is known for a Lifetime replacement warrenty that is transferrable to new home owners if the home is sold the warrenty has to be registered with in 15 days. They install Metal Roofs in Florida using contractors that should be climbing ladders if you know what I mean. That are twice the price as any other contractor in the state and when clients call for warrrenty work that always say they are not responsible for the work. No one signed the permit but the owner Frank Mckinney himself. I would advise you getting legal help and gettingthe records on file for the permit pulled thru the local court house in the recorders office it will show the company responsible for the damages in this case and many other in the state of Florida.

You can also see there websites at:
www.solarshieldroofing.com
www.solarshieldindustries.com

Check them out on the BBB in Florida under Solarshieldindustries and Angie's List they have an account.

The only way we the people can prevent contractors in the state of Florida is to report this cases to all internet marketing found for the company and post negetive reports about services renderred.

I wish everyone luck when dealing with these scam artists.

Solarshield is not the company who installed the roof or who he signed contract with!

This homeowner unfortunately was scammed by a previous emplyee of ours. This employee by the name of Robert Thompson was an employee who did our permitting for us there for was an authorized agent at the building department and also forged signatures to be able to continue pulling permits. He stopped working for us, he said he found a different job, unfortunately that job was selling metal roofs but, not for us this customer signed a contract with Robert we don't with what company name because we have never seen the contract and he also received wrote a check to someone but, not Solarshield Metal Roofing, Inc. As a result of the authorized agent of Solarshield Metal Roofing, Inc. he was able to obtain a permit as Solarshield Metal Roofing, Inc. being the company to install the roof. So as a result we were named on the permit as the roofing company. However, we never received a contract or any money for the job. We got in trouble with the building department and since the permit was in our name we are the only ones that can be held responsible since Robert Thompson has vanished. Where is he? We would like to see a copy of the check that this customer wrote who did he write it to? It sure wasn't us. This complaint about our compnay is false and it should be against the law to be able to lie about companies just because someone got ripped off. We got ripped off as well. Our name is being slandered instead of the real culperate Robert Thompson. I know all of this information because I work for Solarshield Metal Roofing, Inc. and received mail regarding this homeowner's complaint

I am building a data base on a group of unscrupulous companies (really all the same bunch of crooks ) In Canada selling substandrad roofing in the U.S. Please contact website to contact me with copies of sales materials, contracts with Last name and your other I.D. blacked out, etc. Many of us who have been burned have a shot at repairs only if we can etsablish the link btween all these companies. Seach Interlock Roofing or Futureroof on this site. for my story.

Manufacturer's Warranty

#5Consumer Suggestion

Probably a long shot, but find out if you have a Manufacturer's Warranty from the building products company. If the roof was improperly installed, you may have some recourse with them. Please note: depending on the building products company, manufacturer's warranties range from outstanding to not worth the paper they are printing. Good Luck!
