March 2002, I purchased a sony laptop from circuit city with a sony mail in rebate of $100. I sent proper paperwork, including copy of sales receipt and upc from box to sony rebate center.

I hadn't received it bt May and upon calling about it, I was told to resubmit the info to sony rebate center in New Jersey - (Attn: Rebate Supv NIS) which I did. By July I hadn't received it, so I called the 1-800 # again, spoke to a rep named Rob. He did not find my info so he told me to fax the paperwork to fax # 973-461-4335 (Attn: Rebate Supv. NIS), which I did, and have my confirmation of the fax.

By Oct. 24, I had not received it so I called the 800 # again, They had no record of my paperwork, and I checked the status of it on sony rebate internet site, there was no record of it there either. I called the same 800# on Oct 24, and was told to submit the info again, via fax, to the same fax # as before, and someone named Michelle, would then forward onto corporate office.

I called the 800# of Sony Corporate and talked to another representative, who told me I had sent the info to the wrong rebate office for my particular model of pc. He gave me another 800# to call, and upon calling that number, it was not in service. I have spent time and money on mailing, copying, and faxing paperwork for a $100 rebate from Sony, which I will probably never get !!!!!!!! This is false advertising and deception from Sony !!!!
