I have been ripped off by an unscrupulous worm by the name of MATTHEW HASTY. I have also received calls from him and the caller ID was from a TIM BRISBY. So not exactly sure what his name is. The name of his company is SOUTHERN STAR REMODELING AND RESTORATION. If any of you would like proof I have texts between us and a contract. I got him off of NEXT DOOR. He is a scammer, a liar, says he is a Navy veteran but in conversation stated several things about the ship my husband was on that were totally incorrect including the name of the ship. He tried to tell me he spent time on the same ship but didn't know things that anyone would know that had spent time on the ship. We had agreed on a date and a Time.
When he was late and I called about it he gave me an excuse about his truck having problems. I do understand that life is unpredictable and sometimes the worst things happen at the worst times. I told him not to worry about it and to take care of whatever business he had to take care of and we would proceed the next day. He then told me he would have to have half the cost of the project down so he could buy materials. That makes sense to me so he managed to make it by to pick up a check. The next morning he didn't show up and I called him again and he told me that the bank had a problem with the check and needed a couple of days for it to clear. The check was for $571 and change. It sounded funny but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I then told him that if we started that week it would take me into the weekend and I had plans so that we would just wait until the following Monday. He said that would be great and that he would be at my house at 9:30.
A little afternoon I called him again and he was quick to let me know that he had to larger projects that he had to get his men straightened out on and that he didn't like to be held to a schedule. I told him I was about ready to ask for a refund because this was not professional. He immediately said I will refund you as soon as possible. That was last week. When I texted him and asked asked him when I would be refunded I got no answer. I told him I would give him to the end of this week to mail me a check and then if he didn't I would gather up all of our texts and the contract that we drew up and take it to the DA. I also told him that I would put it all over Next Door and Endeavor to put him out of business.
