I paid for Cable One internet and home phone service of $95.56 for the month of September 2019. I had them disconnect my service & come pick up their purchase a week after this. Then, I requested for them to come back and hook it up. I did not pay my bill for the month of October 2019 because I had to purchase other things. According to their website, they charge you a month in advance. That means that I should be covered for October 2019. They disconnected my internet & home phone service & is going to charge me $214 to reconnect, which is not right. They are saying that I last paid them on August 01, 2019. I know that is a complete lie. They are obviously trying to charge for me telling them to disconnect my service and them picking up their merchandise & rehooking it up. However, I had already paid them before I told them to come disconnect it. I know that they are lying about me not paying them for the month of September 2019 because if I did not pay them for the month of September 2019 & had them to disconnect it, they never would have sent out their technician to come hook it up back it up the next week after I told them that I want it reconnected. I cannot get records of me paying them because I am with GreenDot Bank. My cellphone # and email address have changed since I last logged into my account on Walmart Money Card. They told that I will have to get a new card & a new account & will not let me back into my account. I really did pay Sparklight/ Cable One for the month of September 2019.

I paid them on 08/01/2019. I have also paid them on August 1, 2019. I had told them from the get go that I am on fixed income from the government and can only pay on the 1st. They said that my bill comes in on the 22nd of each month.

If I pay them within 12 days after that, then I am find and will not be disconnected. October 2019 is the 1st time that I was disconnected. My payment on 08/30/2019 was supposed to be for the month of September 2019. Like I said I had told them to disconnect my service in September 2019.

Their technician who is from my hometown had came and got it. He came back to hook it back up at my request. That is how I know for a fact that there is no way possible that they would have sent of their technicians to reconnect my internet with their equipment if I did not pay for September 2019 & even August 2019.

They only supposed to charged 25% to reinstallation fees. Sometimes checks come on the 29th, 30th, or 31st & not just the 1st. It depends on if the 1st is something like on a Sunday. Some times the government sends checks a few days early.

I have been a loyal customer with them since September 2015. I have paid them every month on time. Their website does state that they charge you in advance:

Q. What am I billed for each month?

A. Your cable service is provided on a month-to-month basis. The prorated monthly service charge, which includes any equipment lease fees and any installation charges, is normally payable either before or when service is installed. After that, we will bill you each month in advance for service. Your cable bill will include a list of your services, package or special offer discounts, payments, credits and any applicable fees and taxes.

That means if they bill you in advance and I had paid twice in August 2019, then they had made money from me three different times. I know that there are lies that protect consumers from this type of behavior from businesses.

There are thousands of complaints filed against Sparklight (formerly CableOne) on the Better Business Bureau. One lady is even trying to file a lawsuit against them. You are obviously someone who have an axe to grind or a former employee.

A couple days ago they were even trying to charge me $354. I had filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau last Friday. I had even disputed with an employee on the day that I wrote this report on RipOffReport. They came to pick up their equipment from me yesterday on Tuesday, 08/29/19. Now, they have since reduced to $138.21.

You really just proved their point.  They say  you paid on 8/1, which would come close to the dates you receive payments.  But you claim you paid them on August 30th.  Where in your own words you get payments on or about the 1st, and apparently always are late. So now we are to believe that you actually paid 2 days early the same time period you had them disconnect it because you couldn't afford it?  If you are that bad off why would you pay in advance?

They said that you have 12 days to pay before they disconnect your service. I do this every month and they never disconnect my service.

- Seems like that statement is not quite accurate with their charge of $214.

Yea, there is a lot more here than you are telling us.

If you were able to find this payment on the 30th, from their site, what about payments for the last 6 months. You say you paid them in July and August, so what about April, May, June?

By the way if you are this bad off, perhaps it is time to think about cutting off these services for good.

On 08/30/19 I paid $96.45. My status shows: applied. My confirmation #: CABREG046579872. This is information that I got from their own website. 1st, they said that I last paid them on 08/01/19. I told them that I am on fixed income from the goverment.

I get payments every time on or around the 1st of every month. They said that you have 12 days to pay before they disconnect your service. I do this every month and they never disconnect my service. They are charging me also for picking up their equipment even though I had already paid them for that month.

They got payments from me twice in both July 2019 and August 2019. She tried to say that my payment was for the previous month, which is false. She was obviously reading from a script, although it said that she was not doing it.
