Its all about the card. I work in the travel industry and have seen this happen several times. This Prepaid Visa is not considered a Debit Card or Credit Card. In the merchant world it is seen as a Gift Card. Most of the time in Hotels and especially on flights these cards are not supported on their own as they can not be traced back to a sole person. Mostly they are issued through GE Money Bank or something of that nature, and are not reputable. Most venues require a Photo ID of the card holder to prove that the flight or room was funded by someone who is not on the Homeland Security list. My advice would be to go to a REAL bank and get a REAL debit card, something that verifies Identity when you open the account.
