Spring Cove Marina Overpaid for Shoddy Work Solomon's, Maryland
Their mechanic Chip would show up to work at 11am and leave at 12pm for lunch. He would return from lunch at around 1:30pm and then leave for the day between 2 and 3pm, leaving my engine compartments off and fluid bottles sitting on top of the engines. The Dock Master Will smirks a lot and at inappropriate times. I voiced my concerns over the myriad of problems I was having with the lack of progress and he smirked and told me to wait, and that the repairs would get done eventually. Meanwhile the dockage bill was adding up while no progress was being made. At the same time, boatyard staff members were placing bets on whether or not my boat would make it all the way back to Miami or not. I Complained to the Boatyard Manager Cj and he told me that I was out of line. As soon as I left his office, he and his staff continued their fun and games, laughing and playing, with no regard for my situation. A week prior, Cj had told me to come in and that he would fix the issues on the boat that I had just bought. I quickly crossed the Chesapeake Bay in the freezing cold winter, and now nothing was getting fixed. $5,000 later, I now have a couple of new hoses and a new steering pump. These people are highly unprofessional and terribly "small-town" minded. I would suspect that some of the positive feedback for this place was added by staff. Even still, I wouldn't risk it if I were you. At my next stop, I found the hose to my starboard engine's cooling system completely disconnected. I'm still not sure if Chip the mechanic did this maliciously or if it had been overlooked in the 10 days that I was there. In any event, there's no excuse for such negligence.

I had some work done on my boat here and was completely disgusted by how I was treated, and overcharged for bad work.
