Square Trade does not say it will REMOVE negative feedback. It says it will work as a mediator service to try to remove PREMATURE neg feedback; i.e, to try to work out the situation so that the buyer will rethink leaving you negative feedback. Read carefully! Ebay, as well as Square Trade, both say that once negative feedback is left, it cannot be taken back. Here's a hypothetical situation to explain this to you fully: I buy something from you, but am not satisfied, for some reason. I click on the Square Trade link on your auction listing, to make a complaint. Square Trade attempts to mediate the situation, with you, to ensure that I, the buyer, get what I want without putting you, the seller, in dire straits. If I'm satisfied by the outcome, I decide NOT to leave you negative feedback on Ebay. Read more carefully before you commit to anything. Direct quote from Square Trade's benefits page: "You will have the option of having us notify you if a negative feedback is filed against you [with Square Trade]. We can then help you work with the other party to get the dispute resolved in mediation - often times resulting in having premature negative feedback removed or withdrawn...Buyers who see the SquareTrade Seal know you are committed to participating in ODR if the need arises. It gives your buyers an easy way to contact you BEFORE filing a chargeback or leaving negative feedback if there is a problem." There is no guarantee that a buyer will use the Square Trade link to resolve the dispute before leaving feedback, but having the link there heightens the chance of a happy resolution.
