Square Trade Ripoff - paid $29.95 for e-Bay mediation, got 3 days of little effort San Francisco California
Square Trade works in concert with e-Bay to ripoff folks trying to get relief from e-Bay crooks. If an unethical e-Bay seller rips you off, you need to wait a minimum of 10 days before you are allowed into the Dispute Resolution Center. In the meantime, the e-Bay site kicks you into the Square Trade website which will allow you "purchase" help with mediating your dispute with the seller.
The square Trade FAQ's state you can get up to 3 weeks of professional mediation of your dispute for a one-time fee of $29.95. They also state your credit card will not be charged until the other party agrees to enter mediation with you. That part is true. What I didn't get was my money's worth!
What I actually received for my $29.95 was 3 days of half-hearted mediation from someone who knew absolutely nothing about the faulty merchandise. This person didn't know anything about mediation, either, judging from the weak attempt made to find a mutually agreeable solution.
To make matters worse, once you "view" your unsuccessfully mediated (and now CLOSED) case, it then becomes unavailable for future reference. Don't try to contact these crooks, there isn't any "Contact us" information available anywhere on their website.
