I have had SquareTrade for about 5 years. I purchased 2 ipads in September 2013 from another company. I purchased 2 SquareTrade Warranties through Amazon. I have made claims with them reporting the 2 ipads in the past  and they honored the warranty.

I called on Jan 29, 2015 to make a claim to get them repaired, I spoke to a woman and got the information and then she said "something looks wrong and I would get a call back. So on Jan 30, 2015 i received a theatening email from SquareTrades Assurance Team and quote for quote email

 

                     The SqaureTrade claims team has noticed recent irregularities with your account and associated 

                     warranty purchases and/or claims and suspects that these irregulartities are associated with fraud and 

                     or misrepresentation.

 

                     Misrepresentation and fraud when filling a claim is punishable by law and SquareTrade reserves the 

                     right to report such incidents to law enforcement.

 

                      As of now, we have not notified law enforcement with repect to this incident, but we will be will 

                      cancel the existing warranty/warranties associated with your account. Squaretrade reserves the right to 

                      cancel a warranty for suspicion of fraud and/or misrepresentation in the terms and agreements. Cancelled

                     warranties will be refunded in full to the original payment method at the time of the cancellation. Furthermore

                     Furthermore this will conclude any and all services with us, including but not limited to pre-existing and future

                     warranty purchases.

I called Travis in the Assurance Team and he told me that I am being investagated for fraud and he cannot provide me anymore information the I would need to email the legal department.

I told him I was going to contact the BBB and he told me that everything on my account will go across his desk and he would recommend that I dont contact them. I emailed emails from Sept 2013 to current that had to do with Squaretrade and the company I purchased the Ipads from, plus the serial numbers.

I also Cc via email the CEO of Squaretrade and left voicemails and everything went unanswered from him. I have have emailed our local consumer advocates and in the process of contacting the BBB and Californias Attorney General on how i was treated unfairly and being accused of fraud.

 

This has caused me so much stress and anxitey. The time i put into this countless hours to prove that I am innocent. In the mean time I had to pay out of pocket for the 2 ipads to be fixed which was less then $200. Then about a week and half later  The company I purchased the 2 ipads from had a clerical typo on the year.

So due to this error I was treated like a criminal. I am the one to follow up on this and then I called Travis and he said everything looks good and we will send your checks out and your warranties will not be cancelled. I asked him. I would like an apolgy letter or email for putting me thru hell and treating me like a criminal.he told me that he would notate the account "when i call in to take good care of me"

He also said he would get something out and still havent received anything. I understand fraud is everywhere but Squaretrade could have been we see on irregularties we would need documents to resolve this issue before we can fix the products. Not just come out of the door and make false accusations and treat customers like criminals. I am sent those email surveys explaining how they did. Do you think they would put the information I listed above in there? 

I am not going to let this slide, I have been with them for 5 years and I have had my laptop serviced through their depot and i have had to take it to my local repair shop after i received it from their depot. my case on my laptop is still damaged.
