Philip, I am currently working for State Farm and I can tell you that the only coverages that you can stack on your auto insurance policy is you uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. This is a coverage that takes care of your bodily injury in case of an accident where the responsible party has no insurance or not enough insurance. These limits can be stacked (example: Lets say that you have 20/40 uninsured motorist coverage on two vehicles through State Farm. This would stack to become 40/80. What this means is that you would have 40,000 per person bodily injury up to 80,000 per accident. this applies to bodily injury only. as for your other limits, those apply to the other persons vehicle. The amount that they pay you is determined by the book value on you vehicle minus the deductible. That would mean that you actually did not have 50,000 to cover your vehicle. I am so sorry that your agent lied to you about your coerages. Please respond if you have any questions or if I can help in any way.
