Mark, I can honestly say by the sound of integrity in your words on this factual incident that transpired with State Farm Ins.Co. rest easy I beleive what you have said with regard to your own work and personal ethics as to why you responded the way you have. I applaude you and in no way what you to feel this is a personal attack against you or the way you conduct yourself in the industry as to your business conduct. You would agree this is not a good place or site for a business as State Farm Ins. Co. to have been placed on and when Companies decide to emblish on bad business practices and accept no resposilbility or in fact you see these media stories being reported it makes people wonder what is going on. The very reason I say this is, local media reported story about house incident. I was intriqued by what had been reported and the respectability of the News Station and the Local Reporter. I discover this web site and find out about State Farm Ins. Co. and also I might add the credibilty of this site of what is being reported that News Groups use information posted on this site as being factual and reliable to investigate and report stories as to which millions of viewers have read and it is a good and right thing to do to inform our consumers with information that can be used before doing business with Companies to find out thier track records before entering in business with a particular company. Coorpate Business has been in the Head Lines in many different industries for vast variety of un-ethical business practices, and this industry should be treated the same because of the economical impact on its consumers. Mark I appreciate your candid view on this story. Thanks,
Mark

I had no intent of any ambiguity - I do indeed work in insurance, however I use the general term 'financial services' because I have also worked in banking, and hold other licenses. Your somewhat defensive response is not warranted. I was completely open about NOT refuting your, or anyone else's claim. My sole intent was to make sure that those reading this weren't left with a completely negative impression of the company. Again, I have no vested interest in them. However, having worked with literally thousands of agents nationally, I do have tremendous insight into their values systems, and general ways of doing business. I truly find both the agents and their company amazing - and coming from a true skeptic such as myself, that is indeed a compliment.

Mark, I read your rebuttal and it sounds if your not sure you work with ins. or not. This was not an attack on State Farm Ins. or to cast a shadow on their Ins.CO(State Farm) as you rebutted. This is a real life story that happen to honest, respected individuals and was subquently reported here in our local area. State Farm was reported in the state of Az and put on this list prior to this report. Also as Voter, I would like our Goverment to reform Ins. Companies, after all they take all the money in for premiums and give people a hard way to go on paying a claim; All types of insurance should be reviewed. I believe this is why there are so many lawsuits against insurance companies, because citizens of this fine country have to perserve thier rights and hire attorney's to make Insurance Companies do what thier suppose to do when claims are filed. My thinking,I am not the only citizen in America that thinks this about Insurance Companies. Insurance is to perserve or replace loss; Not create mysery or a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of americans. Respectfully,
Mark

First off, I do not work for State Farm, nor am I compensated by them either directly or indirectly. In my previous position however, I was responsible for providing direct support to over 1000 agents as part of a strategic alliance with my former employer. I just want to say this to anyone reading this gentleman's article who may assume a negative shadow is cast over the company as a whole: In my eight years of financial services, I have never seen a company with a more decent, customer-focused group of agents than State Farm. Every day I was amazed at how well State Farm had both recruited and retained what were literally the cream of the crop when it came to agents with an undying customer service focus. I cannot say there have not been isolated incidents such as the person posting the aformentioned e-mail, but I will emplore you to consider State Farm over just about any other property & casualty/financial services firm. What has struck me the most, in addition to their universal customer devotion, has been their remarkable lack of concern for compensation over doing the right thing. You can rest assured that your agent is doing and recommending the best course of action for YOU, and not for them. I have also heard solid feedback on their processing and honoring of claims. Again, I can't say this person doesn't have a legitimate gripe, but keep in mind that it is only one side of the story - and you would be amazed at how many customer 'complaints' are the result of fraud or ignorance, and have nothing to do with the company involved. If I didn't feel so strongly about this company, I would have never spent the time in writing this e-mail.
