My mortgage was purchased by StateBridge Company, LLC (from Chase). I have never missed a mortgage payment.
I received a letter from Chase saying that they sold my loan to StateBridge. Little more. No payment information, details, etc. Roughly 2 months later, StateBridge sends me a letter -- again, no payment info, etc. -- telling me they bought my mortgage and lauding their virtues, customer service, etc., etc, etc. -- it was perhaps the most self-congratulatory, corporate mastabatory letter I have ever received in my life. They did not provide any information on how to pay my mortgage, etc.
A month later, I receve a notice that I am behind on my mortage by a month (even though Chase forwarded my last payment to StateBridge). I call StateBridge and talked to a guy named "Jesus" -- extremely rude and condecending individual. I spent roughly an hour speaking with him. He told me I could pay online and gave me a web address (www.statebridgecompany.com). While on the phone I went to the URL and saw there was no way to login or pay. I mentioned this and he then said, "Oh, yeah.... you can't pay online..." CAUGHT IN A LIE! I got my accuont number and payment information and used Chase BillPay to send them a payment for $1600 ($300 more than what I actually owed).
Three weeks later, the $1600 was back in my account. StateBridge refused my payment!! (Thus trying to force me into forecloseure status).
A week later, StateBridge sent me another self-congratulatory letter along with 4 pages of contracts -- which said I had to give them permission in order to accept payments and I could only do so via ACH... and the forms REQUIRED yout to fax them in (no mailing) along with a cancelled check.
So I did..... but at this point in time I hired an attorney to protect myself and my home. I'm currently refinacing my home with Quicken Loans to escape Statebridge because they have a history (look online) of bad service and tricks/games to force home owners into foreclosure so they can sell their houses and collect (including any equity).
Statebridge is a prime example of what is wrong with America. They will force people out of their homes (people like me who have never missed a payment) by playing dirty tricks. I hope every employee of Statebridge burns in hell.
