Complaint Review: Stormy Point - Branson Missouri

went in to check out options for a timeshare to compare to what we currently have with another company, partly out of curiosity since I have only dealt with what I have and partly for the free stuff (OK I admit it).  From the start I could tell something was wrong.  For starters when I told them I was an owner at fantastic resorts, he started telling me lies about what they have and offer and the fees that they charge.  Let me start by saying that I have been an owner at Fantastic resorts for about 10 years, so I know what the fees are and what I am paying for, I know the amenities and special offers they have. Yet the salesman suggested I was either lying or was ignorant about what I actually get. 

The sales manager Brian insulted me as soon as he saw me since I was wearing a shirt that sported my favortie sports team.  He insulted me again when I stated that one of my dream vacations was to go to China.  He said  "What the hell do you want to go to China for? You're American, if you want to experience China, go to San Francisco, we have a resort there."  I have been to China 3 times for work and I have also been to San Francisco AND I know from experience the two are nowhere close to the same thing.

They claimed that I could not will my current investment to my kids or donate it to charity, but I could if I bought from them,,,, well the latter may be true the former is a flat out lie and I told him that.  Fantastic resorts has been around for quite 0awhile and at the last owners dinner I went to there were several couples who have been owners there for over 30 years.  If Fantastic Resorts is as bad as he tried to make them sound then why would someone stay as an owner for that period of time?

Of course, they also stated that if I bought from them I would actually get a deed.  Which I already have.  But the lie they said was that I could stay there any time I wanted and that I would actually own the property, so I asked, well could I add on extra bedroom if I wanted.  Of course he then said no.... so that really means that I wouldn't actually OWN the property.  I asked if when I retired could I spend the entire winter there and once again I was told I could but I would be charged more for that.  That is not what it means to OWN a property.  I pointed that out and was told that I didn't understand so I ointed oiut that you said that I could stay there whenever I wanted with no extra charge and you contradicted yourself by saying that if I stayed there more than my one week a year I would be charged more for it.  That doesn't mean that I can stay there any time I want with no extra charge.

he also tried to pull the you better act fast these properties will not be around for much longer, we expect to have them all sold with 3 months.  I actually wanted to ask him what he would do in 3 months when he is unemployed because he won't have any more properties to sell, but figured it would be a waste of breath.

After dealing with this moron and his boss Brian, I found this web site and found over 41000 complaints against Stormy Point and decided to do a similar check about Fantastic Resorts and found a mere 401.  Which sounds like the better place to own a time share?  Thanks God I trusted my instincts.
