I provide internet marketing services and noticed that some of my competitors were using Stripe.com for their payments so I decided to sign up. I spent over $1,000 having their payment system integrated into my website.

 

After a month of processing cards for our service, I suddenly received an e-mail from Stripe.com saying that they were closing my account and refunding all payments because there were some "unauthorized charges".

 

Basically, out of approximately 100 orders, someone or a couple people used a stolen credit card to purchase my service. But instead of notifying me which payment(s) they were, so that I could refund them, they refunded ALL my payments, those that are legitimate charges, and those from repeat customers that I have a relationship with.

 

I understand and fully accept that they could close my account which I would be fine with, but instead of just closing my account and notifying me that we cannot do business together and refunding the charges they found as "unauthorized", they went ahead and cost me thousands of dollars in damages by refunding ALL of my payments.

 

Not only am I out of the money that my customers paid me. I am also out of money that I had to pay my service supplier. This has cost me significant damages in upwards of $1,500 and nearly a month of wasted time and work. I am actually glad that more of my customers did not pay with Stripe because the damages could be five times as much.

 

AVOID STRIPE.COM AT ALL COSTS, ESPECIALLY IF YOU SELL A SERVICE AND DO NOT SHIP TANGIBLE GOODS (ALTHOUGH FROM READING THESE REVIEWS IT SEEMS LIKE EVEN IF YOU SELL TANGIBLE GOODS, YOU ARE NOT SAFE FROM THEM DOING THE EXACT SAME THING)

I am looking into the possibility of a lawsuit. If anyone is interested in joining this with me then please get in touch.

Once again, you are risking your business by using Stripe.com. Their customer service is short, rude, lack of concern or care, and they can cancel and REFUND all of your customer's payments within a moments notice.

Without warning stripe did the same thing to us. No disputes no problems with customers. We ship in 24 hours after getting the funds from Stripe and never before. Because of the way Stripe deals with things, they payment system is totally disorganized. We tried to get them to answer a simple question regarding non receipt of merchandise disputes, which we already knew the answer to, it was a simple answer. Told them directly 4 different times and each time this idiots kept on giving us the run around. Stripe allows for charges with non verified address go through without a problem, and they refused to answer that if a buyer files a dispute for non receipt and stripe charged the card without veifying the address, would the merchant loose the dispute, the answer was yes. All 4 times this ahole of a company kept on giving us the run around and refused to answer the question. So a stripe merchant has to manually check every single payment to make sure the address if verified.

So to get ourselves oraganized we opened another account with the same exact information from our stripe account that was 1 year old with not a single dispute. Within 2 hours, those MFers closed the account wanting all types of information, such as website URL which they had and everything else. You'll get their BS notice of how they claim that the charges that you just got where not authorized by the cardholder and they were reversing the payment. This was total BullShxt because 2 of those charges were from our own credit card and the 3rd charge happened 3 minutes before they gave us the BS email. After corrected the website URL they made us input a credit card in which they claim they would place 2 charges, which we immediately verified. More of Stripes BS tactics. 10 minutes later, after 1 year of processing, we get another automated email saying your account is closed because your too risky selling computer hardware online. Basically another BS chain email they sent.

Since we never trusted these aholes, we never shipped a product out until we got the funds in our bank account, they knew the type of business we had so they immediately changed it from 2 day transfer to 7 day for 1 year straight and then gave us more BS.

Stripe hides behind an email system and just gives you chain emails with no response, if you find any phone numbers from these crooks, its just an annoucement only. Despite PayPal and egging their members to file disputes against merchants, dealing with this con artist company, we are now getting a merchant account and having nothing to do with this company. We are formalizing a law suit based on the fraudulent email they sent when they claimed that the cardholder never authorized the charge. Filing with the Attorney Generals office and the FTC
