I Signed up with Student Loan Council company in May and Paid $600 (two payments of $299.50 (which I thought was going towards my student loans). When I spoke to "Wade French" by in May is told me that I will be paying $150 dollars a month for 120 consecutive payments- then the rest of my students loans will be forgiven.   Then in July I made a call to student Loan Counsel and "Ceasar" said that I would now be paying $350 a 120 months then my students loans will be forgiven.  I also made a call to the Department of Education Federal student Loan department and checked on my status and they told me that my loan status was still the same and that a 3rd party has not contacted them.  I then called back Student Loan Counsel again and was given the run-around.  I later found out that applying for the Loan Forgiveness was free and that I can simply fill out and sign a Federal Form and submit it to the Student Aid Government Department.

The customer service department at "Student Loan Counsel" was horrible and sales department was grossly misleading (they kept switching my fees and lying about what my student monthly amount would be). The only reason I signed up with student loan counsel was the simple fact that they told me that my monthly payments would be $150 and not a penny more and after 120 consecutive payments that the rest of the loans would be forgiven since I was a Public Service Employee.  I also found out through the BBB that Student Loan Counsel would falsify information and income and other points on federal loan documents. I feel that they have scammed others and are in the process of scamming me out of my money (money that should be going towards my student loans.) The trouble this has caused is immense.

Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $600. I would also like a confirmation that all withdraws have ceased. I would also like this complaint posted Publicly for others knowledge.

I would like to thank you for your involvement helping me navigate these tough situations.

Thank You,

Sonya Royal
