I was lured into purchasing magazines from subscriber services whcih sounded good until I realized the total price was over $730.00. Tried to cancel but could not break out of the agreement. This was for 4 years of magazines of "mostly" my choice and US Weekly was the main issuer. I was put on a payment plan for awhile and then they said if i paid the rest in full they would take off a percentage. Should have been my first clue.
I was promised a $250.00 gift card for my subscription. Not knowing that the only way to get the money was to purchase $100.00 worth of gasoline from Exxon (which was my pick) and then I would receive $25.00 each month with the receipts I submitted with a self addressed stamped envelope and the purchase made in 21 days each month. This would take 10 months to complete if I wanted some of my money back.
I have been getting bills for the magazines and it has only been since Oct/Nov that i started receiving them. This is suppose to be for 4 years.
I did receive three $25.00 checks and now I have not received any for February, March or April.
Tried to call all the numbers and just get the runaround never speaking to a real person and trying to sell me more stuff.
The customer service/complaint number was changed from 1-877-823-7550 to 1-303-431-4080. When i called that number they asked for a last name and 1st 3 letters of the last name. The response said my full name and said I was being blocked by the subscribers request.
What is the next step?
