My Wife and I bought a timeshare from Sunset Group after hourse of
presentation, frustration and our rejection. Finally we gave in and
signed up with them. We decided to cancel after 1 days but as it was our
departure date and we only had a couple of hours, we hand-wrote our
letter of cancellation (4 copies of it) and took it to the sales person
who was representing Sunset at Sunset Lagoon where we were staying.

The agreement said that we had 5 days to cancel and that a refund would be credited within 2 weeks.
It now has been weeks and they refuse to refund the deposit paid.

Fraud and Liars!  Stay away or you will be sorry.

OH dear! I just run into this forum, I SOOOO invite you to read this article,

timesharescam.com/blog/107-timeshare-cancel-professionals/

I think It will pretty much say everything that needs to be say.

I went through a horrible experience with this resort, and I'm out of three thousand dollars right now BUT I'm in a process to cancel my timeshare.

The Sunset Group timeshare is a scam with lowest ethical standards. They tell you lies to make you buy their timeshare vacation packages.

I'm sorry about that, The Sunset Group, along with Mayan Palace and the Royal Elite timeshare resorts are particularly known for using misleading and fraudulent timeshare sales tactics. Therefore, next time, before you purchase (if you ever do) you need to think carefully how you will use it in your life, and if you have the money to spend; take your time and don´t make any commitments on your first visit. Also, don’t forget to do an internet search on the company, and if the company is legit they will let you come back another day if you wish to make de purchase.
