I have had the SunSetter Awning since 2000. I bought brand new and had the first problems 8 months after buying this product. The retractor springs broke first, and after negotiating with the CSM department, they decided to send the springs to me if I paid shipping.

I should have known then I was dealing with a bad company. My awning has not been used very much at all, it is not even faded in any way. Now the main seam is coming apart and should be covered under the warrenty. The CSM department now says that the seam is not covered under warrenty because the thread is weathered. What a joke! This should be under warrenty and taken care of immediately. I would not consider buying any product from this company since they will not stand behind their product. What a SHAME!!

I have an awning. A newer model with no springs and it is awesome. I have never had an issue getting parts. I have the aww and it was clearly stated that all I would have to pay for if I needed replacements is the cost of shipping. I totally understand that. Fabric is not replaced free - it is replaced at 1/2. Think of it this way. If the person who built your house was told 8 months later that something was wrong - would he fix it for free? I doubt it. Since it took 8 months for something to happen. And then if years down the road some cocking came off your window would your contractor be to blame - or would you blame mother nature and just fix it?
