WORST LAWYER EVER! This lady took a file for me. She CHARGED ME $14,000 for some charges for a trial. THEN SHE CONVINCED ME TO PLEAD GUILTY to something I DID NOT DO even though a I had a witness!! So she did not HAVE TO run the trial! SHE KEPT ALL MY MONEY after spending 2 hours in court, and screwed up my life! SHE REFUSED to give me back any money since there was no trial! Now I have to SUE her for Damages to my life! MAKE SURE you contact the Lawyer review board and DONT SIGN ANYTHING! She doesn't care about anything but $1.00!!!! There are WAY BETTER lawyers out there that actually CARE for CLIENTS and not the $1.00. She knew I borrowed every dollar for the trail and knew I wasn't working, yet didn't care.

I am happy to share any emails and documentation

OK, so you spent $14,000.  And how many hours did she spend on your case?  Sounds like she spent a little more than 40 hours or so researching, looking at evidence, etc...  I mean that's what the bill represents.  You don't get a discount if you don't go to trial.  In other words, she doesn't get paid for only the 2 hours she spent in court for you.  Now you're probably thinking...if I have to plead guilty, then why would anyone spend $14,000?  Well, no one knows that until they spend some time and money figuring that out.  You probably don't qualify for a public defender, so this is what you get.  Litigators in court aren't cheap...and court time is really expensive.

If she told you to plead guilty, then it didn't matter what the witness you had was going to say.  There was evidence provided by the DA during discovery to suggest your witness was not credible.

Here's the problem with your logic in your complaint:  If she was really into the money, then going to trial regardless of the evidence would earn her more money.  Lawyers don't keep score over losing or winning cases, so it only benefits them in the pocketbook to go to trial regardless of guilt or innocence.  That's why the whole complaint about money makes no sense.  $14,000 is a pittance compared to what you would have paid had you gone to trial.  If the trial had lasted any period of time, plus the time to prepare for a trial, you can be sure the cost would have exceeded $50K - $70K, or more.  Court time is far more expensive than office time, by a factor of 2X-3X.  If you could not afford $14,000, you certainly could not afford the larger amounts due.  This is the price you pay.
