Complaint Review: Swank Dobermans - monett Missouri

 I bought my Rayne May 2015 from Swank Dobermans in Stockton Missouri. A year ago I had a cardiologist at the Doberman nationals do an echocardiogram on her. Everything looked pretty good, I also donated blood for Doberman research. Early this year I received a letter notifying me that she tested positive for DCA 1 and DCM 2. Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). DCM Is genetic once again it’s Genetic. The only way Rayne could have Inherited this would be from one or both of her parents. And I repeat it’s genetic. I contacted Swank Dobermans in Stockton Missouri about this and they told me that she could’ve got it from his dogs because they don’t have it. It’s genetic! That is the only way Rayne could’ve gotten DCM it’s genetic! How did Swank Dobermans respond to me they unfriended me on Facebook they blocked my text messages and they blocked my phone. Really doesn’t speak well of them does it.

So what they’re doing right now is they keep breeding dogs that have DCM which means every single puppy will also inherit it. Rayne Just had another echocardiogram today at the Doberman Nationals. there was a huge difference in her heart from last year to this year. She now has to be on 2 medication for DCM. She also has to start having the echocardiogram every six months instead of yearly. And yet knowing this they keep right on breeding his Dobermans. so I guess the all mighty dollar is more important to them then the health of their dogs and the puppies that we buy from them. Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a disease of heart muscle that results in a decreased ability of the heart to pump blood. The prognosis for DCM is often poor, with a less than 50% survival rate one year after clinical signs develop, unless a reversible underlying cause is identified. There is no available cure for Dilated Cardiomyopathy, current techniques focus on extending survival time as long as possible.

 I bought a doberman from Jeff a few months ago. We named her Roxy. Roxy is health, and energetic. She has a rich coat and strong joints. My vet says she is an absolutely healthy puppy. She is kind and loves cuddles. I can tell Jeff gave her plenty of attention and she was raised around people and not inside a cage because she is very friendly and doesn't scare easy. It is disappointing to hear people attempt to discredit such a great breeder.

I purchased Bishop from Swank Dobermans a little over two years ago and I cannot be happier with my decision. I wired Jeff money (very risky) and he flew my pup to Las Vegas, Nevada just as he promised. No problems. His health has been perfect so far and I hope it stays that way. He is one BEAUTIFUL Doberman! As for his temperament, I couldn’t be happier. I am the type of dog owner that is ALWAYS in my dogs face. I fight/wrestle with him, pull on his face and his ears, give him constant kisses, and spank him when he’s bad. NOT once has he shown any aggression during these times and knows I am his owner. He is also gentle with my twelve year old min pin (ten pounds). With that said…if someone approaches me that he doesn’t know, he is quick to make sure their intentions are good. He is no push over by any means. This dog is my shadow and I love him with all of my heart. I would purchase from Jeff Swank again.

so ur from rhoade island 1800 miles away an you been here to see our facility that has been finished for over an yr.an yet you bought a puppy an had it shipped an paid 350 shipping instead of taking it with you.1st off no vet would sign a health certificate on a doberman pup 14 lbs underweight.dobermans have less then 2percent body fat an that would be a dead puppy.and if you dont change ear bandages every 5 to 7 days they will rot the tips off.so your a lier an have now pup off our.lets have the vets ph no. an some proof.if you want to talk to real owners come join us on facebook at swank dobermans were you can talk to 150 real owners an or call us an we will give you another 100 owner referance.dont believe crap with out eveidence on this site there other breeders bashing everyone.

You said yourself that he had some beautiful dogs,sick deformed dogs don't usually look beautiful.

 We bought out puppy from Jeff Swank at Swank Dobermans last May. She is 13 months old and is a beautiful, smart, and a very healthy puppy. Our Kansas City vet said she was in great condition when we took her in (two days after we got her). He said her ears were the best cropped job that he had seen in a really long time and wanted to know who did them, so he could refer people to them. We have called, messaged and text Jeff several times over the past 11 months and he has always been quick to respond and very helpful. We will be getting anther puppy from him for sure. We went to his home to pick her up and got to meet and see both parents. They were both pretty friendly considering they did not know us. The facility was very nice, new, and well kept. It even had lights, heat, and ac, with tons of space for the mommas and they puppies to run and play. You could tell that Jeff loved the dogs and what he was doing. Our puppy was and still is in prefect health! Growing very well and she does great with our three little kids and other dogs. Jeff has a son that loves the dogs/puppies and spends lots of time with them. The puppies have also been exposed to other animals. My husband and I feel very strongly about how great our puppy is and how great of a breeder Jeff is. He has our life long business and we often recommend him and his beautiful dogs.

This grievence sounds completely innacurate. I purchased a Red Doberman from Jeff Swank about 2 years ago now. The dog turns heads everywhere we go. He looks like a champion, is loyal, happy, and most of all Healthy. Not only that, Jeff Friends all his owners and helps with any issues they might be having such as getting those ear posts to work just right or give general training advice.  I watched Jeff build an entire new facility to take care of his pups by hand because he cares about his dogs. I see owner after owner commenting on how happy they are with Swank. I don't generally respond to these types of things but knowing how great my dog is an how far off base these comments were, I felt the need to today.

I have owned three dobermans, my last doberman I bought from Swank Doberman.  Of all the doberman's I have had the one I got from Mr. Swank is by far the nicest. She is gentle, healthy and has been so easy to train.  I belive he is a great breeder and loves his doberman's and want's them all to go to a nice home.  If I ever decide to buy another one it will be from Swank Doberman's.

 My family and I purchased a female Doberman pup from Swank Dobermans almost 2 years ago. She is the epitome of the breed: beautiful, strong, loyal, protective,smart, easily trained,agile,alert, and great with children. She was at the time of purchase and still is, the picture of perfect health. It was evident she was well socialized from the moment we got her. The lady reporting Swank Dobermans as s puppy mill raising unhealthy puppies is obviously confused.Jeff welcomes the purchasers of his puppies to friend him on Facebook where it's very obvious his love and knowledge of the breed. If you are looking to add one of these magnificent dogs to your family , I encourage you to do your research...

 I have purchased a puppy from swank dobermans and when I received him he was HEALTHY and he's still healthy at the age of 8 months old. He's happy, joyful, loyal, protective, smart, good looking and healthy. Obviously the breeders raised them with love in their home for my puppy to be like this. He was in good shape and condition when I got him at the air port and never had any problems with my puppy. The doc breeder game can be spiteful at times, when someone gets hateful it's so easy to just discredit someone for all their hard work and can be ruined in seconds.. I just hope that all the viewers know that this is one of those cases and to just ignore this report. He's availabe to his customers, gets back to me anytime I've ever contacted him, and gives me advice when needed. I love my puppy and thanks to swank dobermans I found my best friend/soul mate haha because he never lets me down!! Best dog ever ❤️

I purchased a puppy from Jeff Swank 2 years ago.  He is healthy, beautiful and gentle.  We plan on buying another Doberman from him in the future.  

He offers a one year health garentee and is easy to get in contact with.  I do not believe this report for a second. In my opinion it is false.  

Our doberman has the most amazing temperment.  I would recomend Swank to anyone who is interested in a Dobie. 

Jeff swank is a illiterate redneck that lives off his puppies only ! Which means there has to be inbreeding and the puppy I received from him just proved it ! After recieving a puppy that I did not pick out ( a litter mate ) I immediately took him to vet and she told me he was 14 pounds under wieght ! Also when we took to bandages off his ears it was filled with pus and a smelly stench, like they haven't been changed in over two weeks! Jeff swank was a complete nightmare to deal with , once I started asking more in depth questions ! I have had dobermans throughout my life and the dog I received from him was completely different (temperament wise) He does have plenty of good reviews online, but who wouldn't when you have nothing else to do but sell puppies and probably writes his own reviews ! The most recent review I read was all about his new facility that hasn't even been finished yet!  Very unbelievable ! Please do not buy from this backyard over breeder ! Unless you want a dog with issues , both physical and mental! Yea he does have good looking dogs but beauty is only skin deep with this case !

 I also bought a puppy from Jeff Swank of Swank Dobermans and he has a deformed shoulder that needs surgury that will cost $8000.00 !! This is a genetic defect and Swank Dobermans is breeding junk and selling to everyone. When I asked Jeff about it he didn't have anything to say. I guess it's my problem now. Stay away from this crook. Oh and his address is Monett , MO on my AKC papers. So whatever on that comment. He is an IDIOT with a capital I.
