Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I just spent 38 minutes on the phone between

customer service and T-Mobile Rebate people. I was

told my Costco Rebate which was mailed 4/21/2008,

received by your rebate office on 4/29/2008, Verified

and Approved by your rebate office on 5/8/2008, and

"shipped" on 5/20/2008; is to be applied as a credit

to my bill. Based on feedback from Robin (495269),

Steve (I didn't get his number) at T-Mobile Rebates,

and Pat (I didn't get her number either) from Customer

Service; the credit has not been applied to my bill,

no one in T-Mobile has any idea of when it will be

applied to the bill; but if it isn't applied in 2-3

MONTHS after it has been "shipped", then they can

suddenly check on it. Steve had told me it should be

applied this month (1 or 2 billing cycles from

"shipping", and he connected me with Customer Service

so they could check the billing. Pat confirmed it was

not credited to the bill and said only the rebate

people could do that, she connected me with Robin..

My concern is as follows:

1. The paperwork given

to us by the T-Mobile representative in Costco stated

the Rebate would be applied or mailed within 6-8

weeks.

2. T-Mobile's processing appears to be designed to

delay these credits for several months (I can imagine

the interest on the float T-Mobile recognizes by

keeping customer's money for several extra months

times the number of rebates applied for and held by

T-Mobile)

3. T-Mobile is violating the terms of the Rebate

Agreement by not applying rebates within the time

frame they have specified, thereby engaging in a

fraudulent withholding of customer funds.

Three days later, I received the following email from "Customer Service":

Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile and my name is Melissa. I understand from your email that you would like to know about

the status of your rebate. I will gladly provide all the information you need.

Carter, upon reviewing your account I see that it has been estimated that a rebate check was mailed to you on May 20th. It can take 6 to 8 weeks for you to receive this check. Rebates are only sent as checks by

mail and not directly applied to your account. Based on this you are still within the timeframe. If you have not received your check in the mail by August 1st I would suggest that you contact our Rebate Center to have this check resent to you.

If you have any further questions you may reply to this email, contact customer care at 1-800-937-8997, or 611 from your handset (this is a free call to you). Carter, thank you for choosing T-Mobile and allowing

me the opportunity to assist you today. I also show that you have been with T-Mobile since April of 2007. We definitely appreciate your loyalty as a valued customer.

Sincerely,

Obviously either the THREE people I talked to several days ago were lying, or Mellissa D is lying---or no one in T-Mobile is aware of how their rebates are processed, their mission is only to get customers off the phone and feed them garbage, and T-Mobile is engaging in a systematic effort to defraud customers by withholding their rebates. (I really don't think the US Postal Service would take 6-8 weeks to deliver mail to deepest, darkest Africa, much less Southern California!!!!)
