Please re-read this person's report.
The complaint is about paying ten dollars A MONTH for an activity their child enjoyed every week. Seriously. There were no hidden charges or surprise bills.
The person goes on to complain of spending $500 on gas? and fees for a photoshoot. Who else is supposed to pay expenses for their child? Okay. Please notice that they did not say any of those amounts were paid to the Talent Clubhouse, nor were they mandated by the Talent Clubhouse. This claim is sensational and deceptive.
THE REAL STORY
Talent Clubhouse is a non-profit arts organization with LIMITED RESOURCES that relies on the support of its community to thrive. Like all non-profits, we do the best with the resources we have available. Unfortunately, you can't please everyone.
Before we secured our new facility, we offered a library-based program for only $12.50 a week. We offered family discounts and reduced rates for low-income families. All the families complimented the program and were satisfied with it until the library reduced the number of times you could use their facilities, down to only twice a month.
That was the root of the problem - we did not have a facility back then. One member offered the idea of a recreation center in Kennesaw, but that location did not work for many. Atlanta recreation are booked, making it difficult to secure regular dates. In an effort to save the program, I announced that we would change the program to a biweekly schedule. When members voiced their dissatisfaction, we asked them to meet off-site. They were dissatisfied with that offer as well. Ultimately, we were left with no choice but to discontinue the program until we found an appropriate facility to offer reliable programming. Members were not happy with that but they also did not want to pay more
to cover the expense of renting a facility. One of the reduced rate
members complained about equipment when she had not made a payment in
months! I don't want to call anyone ungrateful but that term comes to
mind somehow.
However, we are proud to say that we have resolved the issue and secured a building where we now offer regular programming at one fixed location. And yes, our program fees are still affordable as they have always been. If you cannot afford to pay, we still offer some financial aid options for low-income families.
I am one person who makes sincere efforts to help children. If you want any other facts, please feel free to contact me directly.
Thanks for your time.

I briefly worked with Joy Adams and unfortunately, she is unprofessional and NEVER had the children's interest at heart. In our phone conversations, the TV show was never intended to be. She didn't think the kids were talented enough ALTHOUGH she was advertising that there would be a show. (False advertising.) Please beware as she is an opportunist.
