I purchased a Caller ID from the Target Store in South Gate. It was defective and I returned it. The Customer Service man said that the Target Policy only allowed for the return of UNOPENED electronic equipment. I explained that it was defective and didn't work and I wanted a refund. He said that since I had opend it, I was not elegible for a refund. I told him that I HAD to open it in order to find out it didn't work. -

Well we went round and round on this track for a few minutes and I finally realized that this guy wasn't listening to reason. I then contacted Target via Email and got the same canned response.

What really makes me angry is, normally Target is a great place to do business with. They really dropped the ball and kept dropping it over and over again.

I have the Caller ID sitting in my drawer as a reminder that Big Business doesn't Get It -

The policy on electronic merchandise is that if it is opened and not defective we cant return it but if it is opened AND defective then you can exchange it for the SAME ITEM ONLY. I dont know what was up with that employee or phone person but they are wrong!!!!
