Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I applied for Unemployment benefits after being laid off from my employer of 4 years.

For obvious concerns, I applied for unemployment benefits via the web as many of us do under similar circumstances. I checked my email periodically to try and follow the guidelines listed as agreed.

When I didn't receive anything from TWC I did a check on my ISP Mail server and quickly established that all their emails were being redirected as Spam and everything tried would not unmark their site as dangerous. To rectify the issue, I had to use their site email to keep up with the process.

As required I did my weekly search beyond their requirements and TWC would periodically request a work log search update which I provided at the time of need.

Eight weeks later I started working again. After that day, I no longer needed the benefits so I stopped the request, stopped checking their site, and continued working as usual.

Here is where the problem begins.. The day after I stopped accessing their site they sent an email asking for a work log search which of course I would never receive because for some unknown reason they are set to go to spam at the email server level.

I finally received regular mail asking for a set amount because of over-payment. I quickly contacted them to address the misunderstanding and they said I would need to appeal and explain the situation which I did. I also sent them a work search log for the period in question which I could provide since I keep excellent logs of who I contacted, when they were contacted and the results.

At this point I assumed it was over but a week later I get an email asking for the full amount that they considered over payment but not because I was over paid but because I did not submit the work search log in time for the very last week in which I was legally entitled. I was never contacted by phone or regular mail which any other business would do as part of their normal business practice. I can fight this but the legal fees would trump the amount owed so I am literally at their mercy. There was no malice or intent to defraud just a communication issue after the fact. I'll use this platform and any other platform I can find to demonstrate their business practice and to call them out on it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has gone through something like this but I will make as much noise as possible to call them out on their misuse of power.
