I ordered the Slim and Lift products by phone one late night while watching the infomercial. I am a disabled woman in my 30's who has issues with joint pain and swelling and chronic inflamation. On the infomercial, they show elderly women putting on this product with ease. Gently pulling them up with just their thumbs and then snapping them right in place. I thought this could be something I could use. I ordered the product (they were 2 for 1) black and tan and they charged a rediculous shipping and handling charge. When I asked why the S&H was so high, I was told it was because there was a seperate shipping charge for the second item. I was shocked when the items came "together" in the mail. They were in a box maybe twice the thickness of a VHS tape and maybe an inch longer and wider. The entire pkg. couldn't have weighed a pound. Basically $20 for shipping alone. Don't forget the processing charges etc. My total was in excess of $50 for the BOGO offer.

I received the items and immediately went to try one on. Oh my....I got the item up to my thighs and my hands hot stuck in the fabric because it was so tight. I couldn't move it up any higher and I couldn't back it down. I was stuck. I ended up injuring myself trying to remove the product that was shipped to me according to my size (which they did ask me.)  I was so upset. This was the product they showed women of all types "including little old ladies" pulling on with no problem?

I called Thane right away to tell them that I had been injured trying to put on their product. I was shocked when I was treated very badly by not one, not two C/S reps, but 2 C/S reps AND a supervisor. They told me that it was not their fault that I was injured by their product and that having a disability, I should've known better than to order such a product without asking first if it would cause me injury. I was shocked by this statement and proceeded to tell them it was very irresponsible of Thane to put elderly women in the ad thus giving the impression that "anyone can use this product." They did not care that I was injured and they were not willing to refund all of my money. They agreed to refund only the first payment of $20 that was for the item itself and not the other $20 something for shipping. They also refused to send me a pre-paid shipping label to return the item. I had to pay for the return shipping myself. They also tell you to insure the package and ship with a verifiable method of delivery just in case it gets "LOST." That makes anyone nervous and therefor, you pay extra for the "special shipping method." So, though I was refunded $20 out of the initial $50 something charged to my card, I still ended up "out" about $40 for the awefull experience.

Now i'm no law guru, but it seems to me that there ought to be a law against this kind of practice when it comes to disabled persons. In any case, they were horrible to me on the phone. Completely disrespectful and degrading and refused a basic request from a disabled person who was injured by their product. I would never recommend ordering ANYTHING from this company.
