My daughter Caitlin sent a poem in to a contest provied by The American poet society. She was asked if she wanted to be published in one of their up coming books. We sent 49.95 to the company and we still have never recieved our book. We have tried to contact them and we still have not recieved any word about our complaint from the company. If any one has any information please contact us.

Did you send a check or use a credit card?

NEVER, send a check to a company you know nothing about. Use a credit card and you have a good chance of getting your money back by contesting the charge and having it reversed. I have learned that when using the net to make purchases that it is best to have at least two credit cards. One you use for internet purchases only and one for everything else. If you feel ripped off immediately report it to your credit card company and have the card cancelled and a new one issued. They are usually happy to do this for you. At the same time never disclose bank information, but if you have and are getting charged, simply close the bank account and open a new one at the same bank. The rip off artists will soon find they cannot get paid and will stop charging you. Retired CPA
