Complaint Review: The Capital Group (Christopher Coluluca & Mark Kernan) - Bethesda Maryland

So my understanding o the rip off .com is to report issues on company that could potentially save people from making mistakes we have made in the decision we took in working for company such as The capital group. After reading the postings on the site I wish I had found this site before going for a job with this company, all of what is mentioned is correct however were most of you have failed to make the point taken seriously is the manner in which you've expressed them. You're anger at Chris Colaluca Comes across as sour grapes. I recently took a job with the capital group in Bethesda Maryland, the job posting read Location: Washington D.C., Northern VA,, MD 20816 ( Map it ) Base Pay: $48,000 - $54,000 /Year Employee Type: Full-Time Employee Industry: Sales - Marketing Entertainment Advertising Manages Others: Yes Job Type: Marketing Entry Level Sales Experience: 0 to 3 year(s) Travel: Our Management Training program is recognized as one of the best in the advertising industry! Imagine representing PROFESSIONAL SPORTS TEAMS, RESTAURANTS, GOLF COURSES, MAJOR RETAILERS and receiving FULL PAID TRAINING to jump start your career! So like every one else in current economically situation applied for the job on my interview very little was said about the company and the actual job itself, instead a bunch of pins on the map was shown to me as were the company would like to see the chosen candidate. I was asked to attend a second interview on my second interview the company was broken down to me, now initially what they failed to mention was that the job was a glorified solicitation in the home improvement and food stores etc well you are probably thinking redskins, nats as is mentioned on the job postings right? Well those are just figments of their imagination. There is NO BASIC SALARY or any form of salary the job IS BASED ON COMMISSION all though they choose to call it profit share and there is definitely no benefit. You are lead to believe that within 6-12months you will be promoted into management and run your own office, there is very little truth in this as Chris Colaluca in the 8years he claims to have been in business has only managed to promote 4 people. Your daily job is based on you walking in home improvement and food stores asking people to sign up for free consultation for some aspect of home improvement. Now if these customers don't sign up you do not get paid and even if they do, if the customer does not call to confirm the appointment you still don't get paid. The company is structured like a pyramid whether he chooses to accept that on not, that is the way the company is structured. So based on you getting 30 leads in a 6 day period (sign up30 people in the stores) you are promoted to leadership, once at this level you are the guinea pig used to lie to the innocent people who responded to a job posting and like I said before at the initial interview very little is said about the job the company and the actual job description. Someone mention sexual harassment, that is correct you are sexually harassed by Chris Colaluca, he has a habit of slapping the butts of the girls and the boys in the office now is this considered appropriate behavior from the manager? No! do I consider it sexual harassment I would think so, the only previous employee who had something positive to say about Chris and the capital group may not have been sexual harassed or seen it but I was and I saw it happen to others. Walking in the stores getting people to sign up is not a marketing career to any management this is a way of keeping Chris colaluca in his position. Chris colaluca has fine tuned the art of lying to people building their hopes of one day owning their own company but again 4 promotions in 8 years, instead of the 6-12months in job posting well!!! He also manages to deduct money from people's wages without them knowing however if you keep track of your production and you call him up on it he has no choice but to pay up, now how trust worthy is that? Finally we have his puppet Tim or Timmy, Tim or Timmy believes and hangs on Chris's every word that he has lost all idea self pride in himself, snooping has become the way forward for management were he is concern. Very pathetic if you ask me With all seriousness if you happen to see the above job posting please ignore it or if you choose to please apply, I guarantee you will post something along theses lines if you stick around long enough to find out The type of marketing career you are looking for is not offered by Chris Colaluca. Chris colaluca's days are nearly over and he will get what's coming to him it's only a matter of time Oh one more thing the hours are 12hoursa day on commission, once the pay is broken down for the number of hours a day you work it's less than minimum wage, so get excited. JUICE? JUICE BY THAT!!

The entire job is a scam. From the Brainwashing sessions in the morning to the bell ringing at night. I stuck the 5 and 7 bell down my pants a good few times while I was there. Its also true that mr colaluca is bisexual and yes, tends to lean more towards women but dont think he wont try to shuffle tightly passed you from behind guys. If you are in the business, dont get caught up in the whole "making leadership" hype. I hit the criteria for 30 leads and finishing the checklist in 3-4 days. It is extremely easy to do it so its not a big accomplishment. Get out while you can and bring a few people with you. Once he loses his worker bees, he makes no money. The job is NEVER salary. You are ALWAYS making money from the amount of leads generated or tickets sold and that includes when you get into management(You have to give a number of happy endings to make it). Just look at Timmy Christiansen's mouth for proof(ignore the cocaine powder around his nose). They'll say people who come to these sites are bitter because they didnt make it....People that didnt make it and got out quick are everything but bitter and want to help other people avoid being taken in like we were. If you go to an interview and it seems more like a frathouse than an office....that should be your clue to get up and walk away. J.U.I.C.E. by that!

You are an ignorant woman indeed.This is the United States Of America and when people feel like they have been treated unfairly they have the right to express themselves.Nobody is against Christopher Coladoodoo's success but they are against mistreatment of employees.There is a difference between complaining for no reason and being a victim of mistreatment and seeking justice. People will not let it go or get over it like you said until justice prevails.The perosn who wrote the previous post clearly explained that.Coladoodoo can have 10 offices for all I care but that does not give him the right to mistreat anyone and get way with it...get that through your thick head!!!!!! If someone steals from your house,you go to the cops and report the incident.The cops will then look for the thieves and put them in jail....that is the same thing happening here.I am amazed that as a woman you actually have the nerve to defend someone that sexually harrases other women....wow!! I hate Coladoodoo just as much as everyone else on this site...he is the scum of the earth and also inhumane,worse than pigs s**t!!!!!Unless he changes his ways he must be out of here and back in the trailer parks of Rhode Island were he came from!!!! As for you...you're the one who needs to get a life and get your ignorant behind out of ex-employees disputes with this chump...that you have no knowledge about!!!!

Seriously? Get a life, you are a complainer. And no-one likes complainers. Put your big-boy (or big-girl) pants on and get over it. Life is not fair.....SURPRISE!! Life is not always a walk in the park either, gasp. AND, everone is entitled to their own opinion, yes. BUT different people perceive things differently. So people say that this company is Deceitful or whatever, truth is Chris has 6+ offices in this country alone. (But wait, I thought there were no MGMT positions??? Hmm.) I have two friends that are running or MANAGING offices. I have also seen TONS of people (including me) thank that company for the sales training and chance to gain some real world experience, not to mention outstanding leadership. Looks like you have learned a bit about leadership too...you seem to be the VOICE of the complainers. Haha. Thats funny. Honestly. Whatever you want to say will not affect his success, so drop it. I worked with Chris. We were never tight, but I respected him. Was he a tough boss? Yeah sometimes, but good bosses usually push you to be great. Was the position for me? No, but after the experience I was able to go back to the job that overlooked me and I nailed it.

How dare you call people insane for simply talking about their negative experiences with these ugly pricks. Yes people are bitter because of the way they were treated by these idiots so just because you didnt have a bad experince does not make The Capital Group a pleasant experince for everyone. To set the record straight with some facts this time: 1.Sexual Harassment does exist in that sorry excuse for a company.Just becasue you never saw it doesnt mean it doesnt exist..read the posts by other people.Maybe you didnt experience it becasue Chris did not find you attractive..not to say his good looking!! 2.That man Christopher Colajoker stinks!!!!!Maybe he finally started to take showers,i dont know? 3.People are not suprised or upset because sales and marketing is a tough gig.Again read the posts by other people...The complaints are DECEPTION,MANIPULATION,BRAINWASHING,SEXUAL HARASSMENT!!!!!!Read and understand what people are saying and not just base everything off your little personal experience. 4.For most people The Capital Group,Christopher Colauca,Mark Kernan are just a waste of time, like someone else said from peoples precious lives.I agree that this line of work is not for everyone but that does not justify DECEPTION,MANIPULATION,BRAINWASHING,SEXUAL HARASSMENT towards employees...there is abosolutely no excuse for that!! Chris is a terrible manager with rotten teeth........aaghh!!!Anyway Chris sucks as a manager and as a human being.Majority rules and majority says he stinks,dresses pathetic,unprofessional and immoral!! The fact that it did not work out for the people complaining on this site does not in any way,shape or form mean they do not have the right to speak about teribble times at a terrible company.When people complain it makes a difference,that way there are less likely to keep treating people the same way or our desired scenario of Chris Colajoker being brought to justice!!!! People do not let it go until justice prevails...who the hell is Chris to get away with all that stuff??The complaints are completely relevant and totally true.. You must be ashamed of yourself for defending such a d****ebag!!

WOW...I just came accross this. Haha, You people are all INSANE!! I used to work directly under Chris and found him to be an amazing leader, same with Mark Kernan. AND I am a Woman too. To set the record straight, I made it through the Management Training Program, so I guess I am not as bitter as some of the posters on the sight. 1) I never saw any form of "sexual harassment" but thats just me... 2) Chris showers every day, haha some of you had to stoop pretty low for that one . 3) Everyone knows that sales and Marketing is a tough gig, they tell you up front that it's not easy and it is about YOUR attitude and work ethic. On top of that the company even shows you a "day in the life of" on the second interview??? WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE SO SURPRISED? This is not some yellow brick road, with rainbows and loli-pops. It took me 4 months to get to Assistant Manager because I came in everyday, worked my a*s off, and didn't make excuses when I SUCKED. 4) What I gained from The Capital Group is priceless. No other comapny has invested so much time in training me on all aspects of business (College Grad, 3.8 GPA in International Buisness) and/ or provided me the INCREDIBLE oppertunity to run my own company. Which - by the way, is freakin AWESOME!!!! Chris is a great boss and an outstanding person... I remember when I had trouble with my car and he paid for all the work - over $400, and never asked for a cent!! Just wanted to add my two cents. For those who are complaining on this site, that is prob the very reason it didn't work out for you....because you are a COMPLAINER. Hopefully all of you will find something you are great at, just keep looking....for others, please ignore the petty, irrelevant, and completely false accusations. Though, very entertaining, hehe.

I worked with Chris and Mark back in the fall of 2006.I must say that chump Christopher Colaluca is like a "wothless prostitute"!!He craves for naive and ignorant young folks to sell coupons door to door.He does everything he can to get recruits and this includes deception,projecting an extreme goofy attitude and manipulation.Without these desperate tactics Christopher Colaluca has no business to talk about.Nobody will care....similar to a "worthless prostitute" that craves for clients she has to do all she can to get attention or else she has no business..no clients.Therefore in the business world Christopher Colaluca is disgrace to the American business owners like a "worthless prostitute" is a disgrace to society!! On the other hand Mark Kernan just has a problem with professionalism.I dont know who that man thinks he is but he needs to change.His people skills suck,its possible to be serious in business and at the same time not being disrespectful to people.Thats what a lot of people dont understand!!The only problem i saw with Mark was "unprofessionalism"!!

I must say Mark is an OK guy. I moved with him out to the Mid-West in Feb. of 98', but he was full of it. I like him as a person but as far as the "business" comes, I would not trust him or MIKE PUTNAM, as far as I could throw them. I still, to this day, see Putnam's minions walking around the neighborhod and take them inside my house and introduce then to www.ds-maxtheaftermath.com. Mark is a nice guy, and goes out of his way to help people, but his dream of never working again and retiring by the time he was 35 has long sinced passed. I am 33 now, which makes him 38 and last I heard he had 3 offices and is in St. Louis, after building a house outside of Chicago. A friend of mine, a very close one, married a VP's brother and said VP is still working his but off 60+ hours a week for alot less than was promised. I learned hard work, that is for sure, but I make a crap load more money now and have a regular life. From What I have heard I am much more happy making my 150K a year and enjoying life than lying to some 22 yr old to selling SH*T door to DOOR. STAY AWAY FROM DS-MAX,GRANTON, SMART CIRCLE ECT.

Like most people that file reports on this business i was upset and i realise i was not clear about Mark Kernan.I did not mean to imply that Mark Kernan was involved in any sexual harassment.The man did all those good things for you,juice by that.In my personal experience he was totally unprofessional and offensive.He crosses the line with distributors and leaders.I even saw him push someone back while that person was giving him a practice pitch and thats the type of behaviour that a lot of us found out of line.He is lucky he kept it verbal with me and did not dare to get physical. The sexual harassment complaint was directed at that worthless and despicable existence Christopher Colaluca.Mark Kernan is just an unprofessional punk.

I used to work for FJ Associates. I knew Mark very well. Back in the day I lived in a "merch house" with about 11 of us, including Mark. (Merch house is when a bunch of people from the office live together) Anyway, he was VP with about 52 offices then. Jesse Young had just went to London. Mosier from St. Paul was promoted, and won the Benz....(taking it back) Anywho, I use to live going on roadtrips. One time one of my roommates forgot to pick up my dry cleaning for my roadtrip....(all my suits) I was panicking because we were going to St. Paul, and I was meeting Jeremy Mosier for the first time. I'm running around the apartment when Mark asked me What was up. I told him, he instantly had his fiance' take me Kohls and spent over 600.00 bucks on me getting a new wardrobe. Then never charged me. A fellow roommate who even later after her time with FJ Associates fell ill to breast cancer. Mark "Lent" her 10,000 for the operation. To that last poster who's trying to finger Mark for for some kind of pervert let me set you straight right therer. Mark is one of the most noblest men I have ever met in my life. NEVER, EVER was he inappropiate, flirtatious, or perverted in anyway. I don't think I have ever even seen him outside of a suit. Now Chris Collaluca I don't know or ever met. All I know or remember is he was on of Ferry's outside deals. I loved it, the whole expierence taught me a lot. Mark is abrasive, yes. He is like The Gordon Ramsay of sales. One thing I will say though is he has HEART. Juce by That! TEAM STEAM!

I just want to state a few facts to people considering working for this company-THERE IS NO MANAGEMENT POSITION AVAILABLE! THE BUSINESS IS NOT EXPANDING LIKE THEY SAY! DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO DECEIVE YOU INTO MAKING DOOR TO DOOR SALES FOR THEM! IF YOU YOU EVER GO FOR AN INTERVIEW WITH A MARKETING COMPANY AND YOU REALIZE THE MANAGERS NAME IS CHRISTOPHER COLALUCA,DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME,GO HOME AND LOOK FOR ANOTHER JOB!!!!!!! I would like to confirm and agree with the two young ladies that are complaining about sexual harassment from Christopher Colaluca.I would therefore like to hightlight the magnitude of the problem.Girls,that man also sexually harasses boys too.If you look for reports filed under CRC Advertising,thats what the company used to be called.In these reports you will see that young boys have been victims of sexual harassment from Christopher Colaluca.If you experienced sexual harassment from this man, please take some legal action against this idiot!!!!You cant allow something like that to happen to you and not do anything about it. Another thing I will confirm is the fact that Christopher Colaluca does not take showers or brush his teeth.He smells like a dirty goat!!This is really unacceptable in an environment were people have to work with each other. At the time I was in this business,there was a lot of discrimination.He would randomly make deragatory remarks towards employees he felt would not stand up for themselves. My conclusion is The Capital Group (Christopher Colaluca & Mark Kernan) should be eliminated from existence.They do not benefit people in any way.When you have a job,it is not supposed to have such an extreme negative impact on your life.This company is not worth going into debt or losing a spouse for. Like many people have said,the time will come when that fat and worthless cow Chriastopher Colaluca will find himself back in the trailer parks of Rhode Island!!
