The Edge Fitness Center I feel you guys are ripping me off. Allendale, New Jersey
As I mentioned in my conversation, I had my daughter,
membership frozen a few times in 2010 due to her sports
Commitments. The last time it was frozen, I realized that the freeze
would be released in July 2010, exactly when we would go on Summer
vacation. I, personally, came into the gym on May 2010 and filled out a
form to have the membership cancelled because my daughter would not be able to
use the gym. The cancellation paperwork was filled out with a person
named KIM.
As I was doing some yearend work on my credit card account. I realized
I was still being charged for this membership since 2010. The Gym Never
cancelled her membership. I came in Wednesday, May23rd, 2012 and
spoke to a person named Howard. Howard said I did not need to fill out
anymore paperwork and he would speak to Brian and they would be able to
clear this up and refund me the monies that were charged. The total
amount owed is $1,416.00. Howard asked me to call on Friday, May 25th
and speak with Brian.
I called on Friday, Brian answered the phone and I explained to him the
problem and Brian said you would investigate the problem and get back to
me on Tuesday, May 29th. On Tuesday, I spoke with Brian again and now he
started to tell me that the membership was open-ended and I would have to
come in to cancel in person. I told Brian that the problem was caused by
the gym's personnel and I've already came there two times to fill out paperwork.
Why do I need to come again. So Brian suggested to send an email
requesting cancellation again, because the gym's office has no evidence of
the cancellation. Brian said that if I can show you evidence of the
paperwork that I filled out 2 years ago, they would be able to take care
of this. Otherwise, the gym is not in any position to take care of
this.
Brian verified that they had records of the membership being frozen, but
no record of the cancellation. Most people would understand that the
average person would not have the paperwork to show the cancellation
two years ago. But, your cmpany should have the records of this and
especially if I called and made you aware of the problem. Your gym
should take care of this out of good faith. Obviously, there was a
problem with using the gym right from the start. My daughter is a high
school student and very active with sports. This was also explained
right from the start and your gym personnel said that they would work
with me. I don't consider this type of service working with me. I feel
you guys are ripping me off.
So once again please cancel my daughter's membership immediately.
