The Hartford Insurance Company Hartford Insurance for Worker's Comp is a Nightmare and a Half. Hartford Connecticut
My husband was very seriously injured while at work in January 2006. The employer uses Hartford Insurance for their worker's comp cases. My husband was in a coma for two weeks and has a very serious brain injury. He has been classified as permanently and totally disabled by his doctors.
While I was in the ICU next to my husband's bed while he was in a coma about 25-28 hours after this horrific injury took place, Hartford called me on my cell phone and actually bullied me by telling me that there were many witnesses to my husband's fall and that it was not work related so I should not even bother to get an attorney to fight them because the claim was being denied. Keep in mind that this is only 25-28 hours after this injury occurred. I was in shock already and their bullying did not help at all. I am still seeing a counselor due in part to this bullying.
The employer also did the same thing, bullied me to try to get me not to call an attorney, but that is another story. In reality, there was only one witness and according to his own statement, he was not paying attention to my husband that morning.
To make a long story short, the Hartford is still fighting fighting fighting us every step of the way about this worker's comp. Every time we get close to having a court date, they throw in some other monkey wrench. They are stalling.
If you are seeking employment, first ask the employer who carries their worker's comp insurance. If it is the Hartford, get a job elsewhere. It is not worth the nightmare we are living in everyday with no end in sight.
