I wrote several letters to poetry.com between the year 2000 and 2006. They wrote many lettrs
to me both through the snail mail and e mail, seeking my authority to puplish my poems, I replied
to some of the mails by sending them a proofread and corrected copies of my poems through the
Address: 1 Poetry Plaza, Owings Mills, MD, 21117-6282. I authorised some of the publications of
my poems also at their website www.poetry.com.
These are the details of some of the letters I got from them, telling me that I qualify to attend the
International Library of Poetry Symposium to be held in Washington DC.

1. Poem tittle "It shall be over soon",
VIP number given me by poetry.com through a snail mail letter, P4163797
Book Publication name: Letters from the Soul
Symposium date 23rd to 25th of August 2002
Place: Washington DC

2. Poem tittle: If and  only If.
VIP number, P6898578
Publication name: Eternal Portraits
Symposium place: Washington DC,
date: 19th to 21st August, 2005.

I have about five of such letters with me now that tells me that I am qualified to attend the
meetings, I was asked to keep the dates and they will soon send me an official invitation to the
symposiums, which I have not got till this year, 2011. I also have several letters from them with
me now, asking for my authority to let them publish my poems and also record some on CDs and
Tapes for people to listen to.

Initially, I could log on to their website, www.poetry.com and search for and read all the poems
I sent them, now the website is missing and the poems.

I began writing to them in 2000, with my first poem tittled " God will make a way", I used my
Ghanaian address, through which they sent me these letters, but later, Ghana disappeared from
the list of countries mysteriously, but I still to write to them from Ghana but in the country column, a few times, I used United kingdom and South Africa which demanded that the letters from poetry.com to me
have to undergo forwarding service which is shown on the envelops I have now.

I want someone to assist me get the whole truth about this so called International Open poetry contest, which stole my poems, made me waste money to post letters, fulled me with the so called
invitations to the symposium etc.

I have also turned in poems to this company, but apparently, was only a sucker just once.  I bought the first book they claimed a great poem of mine needed to be included.  That book was called Dawns's First Light and this was over 10 years ago.  I did however receive this book, and it did contain my poem, only I kept it for one night, and 'lent' to the friend that I wrote it about, and have never seen it again. =*(

I sent in several more poems, some of which received publication, a less had not.  There was even a time or two where my original featured poems were slightly later asked to be placed in a 'best of poems' book.

I only laugh cause I have not really thought much about any of this in many years.  Only just tonight, did I decide to dig up some of my past an read my book of poems, and in the end, I mentioned which poems were 'supposedly published' in certain books.

So curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to search for the books that I thought had my poems in them.  Yahoo search could not find my books, so I tried searching for the company since it had been so long, that I could no longer remember the website.

That's where I still think I found the right website, only looks completely different, and I can't seem to find not only my poems, but the books as well!  This was also the same time I found this site, and started reading some complaints.  Just found it all funny I guess.

Now I'm not going to get all worked up over weather or not this company is a scam, for 2 reasons.
1. It seemed valid with no complaints back then, but it does seem fishy now.
2. It was a long time ago, and I no longer care!

This is nothing but a service where they tell you that you are awesome, which they tell everyone by the way, and then you buy a framed version of your poem or a book that contains other people's poems and your own as well; other suckers that paid to have it done. The book is NOT a published piece of work that you would be able to find in the Library of Congress or anything, it just means that they print up your poem on nice paper and bind it up with other people's, and then charge you a ton of money for it. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you are not a groundbreaking poet that they are paying for you to come to Washington, D.C.; they are saying you are invited to come there and spend more of your money to feel special and important, THAT'S ALL.
