The Shutter And Blind Factory - Durowood - Todays Home Products ripoff never received; no refunds; F rating at BBB; hundreds complain - no results; case opened with DA Santa Ana California
We are one of hundreds ripped off by The Shutter and Blind Factory also known as Durowood, and now as Todays Home Products.
A case has been opened by the Consumer Fraud Unit of the District Attorney's Office. Call Frank Cardenas at
714-834-3600 and file complaint against THE SHUTTER AND BLIND FACTORY, also operating as Durowood, and currently calling themselves Todays Home Products when you dial their 800-736-5759 number.
Our order was placed in May, 2004 - we were promised Moreview shutters in 2 weeks with our payment in full of $937. Given months of the runaround, no returned calls or excuses. Finally went to pick up "shutters" after threatening legal action, only to find over 50 bundles of pieces of wood (louvres; frame edges; screws; plastic parts; etc)that did not fit our windows so we did not keep. Current new batch of employees at a loss, since the "guy" that made our shutters had just quit, and they didn't know how to do anything yet, since their supervisor had left for the day. We were told they would remake them.
Discovered numerous complaints on BBB web, and other web complaint sites. Filed our own complaints with no results.
Finally,we were told they no longer make Moreview and we could pay more to upgrade and get order done. Asked for refund, no results. Filing complaint with the DA's office. We'll hope for something to be done to stop this scam from continuing as it has for years under different names.
