Good luck putting them out of business. They just change their name and then they are off and running again. In the past 8 years they have gone by about 10 different dbas and at least two corporations. If you do any research you will find that the current corporation is registered in Nevada under another corporation called "Budget Corporation". Nevada protects corporations by allowing the actual owners or board members to hide under the corporation name. They have been playing the game for some time and now have it down to a science. They could write the book on how to give the worst customer service, produce an inferior product, screw their customers and stay in business. Anyone that is looking to do business with this company would do better to shoot themself in the foot - it will be far less painful. By the way, the BBB just takes the complaints and contacts the company and gives them an opportunity to respond - of course they never do. BBB is a dead end. Besides,as soon as they change their name again they wipe the slate clean.

I can relate to this. Recently we purchased wood blinds from this company. All they do is keep changing their business name to side line consumer complaints. We spoke finally with the so-called manager "Donnie", but only because we had to demand to speak with him after he said he was not there. We refused to leave until he spoke with us. His response to our complaint about not receiving our blinds by stating, "I have only been here for two months and I am doing the job of six people, and I do not have time to call you guys back, nor deal with your issues" Now that is great customer relations, and a great way to run a business! He said that Durowood took over the company and they have nothing to do with the Shutter & Blind Factory. This was despite them still having all their signs in the office windows displaying The Shutter & Blind Factory logos and not Durowood. He said that Duro wood took over the company about two months ago. Well that was the same time we bought our blinds. He obviously cannot manage because he was caught in numerous lies that his own employees could not keep for him. How can them as employees even go to work every day lying to people. If I were them I would be worried about their jobs because the way the company & their management runs the business it will be a very short while before their business is gone. I think that is why "ANN" quit because she saw all the schemes and games being played. Consumers beware of The Shutter & Blind Factory/ or Durowood/ or Checkerman Inc/ or any other name they come up with within the upcoming months. they are a scam and will be reported to the media for further investigation not to mention fraud charges. It was interesting how when we were there to check the status of our blinds that there was two other customers being told to get out due them having similar complaints!!
