The Tire Choice Scam on new tire purchase of $856 Boynton Beach Florida
On 05/30/2014, I went to The Tire Choice to purchase new tires. I have a 2011 BMW 335i. I asked for the exact same tires to put on the car, and turn in my lease. Antonio, the point of contact sales agent, said he would do it. The company ended up putting on $300 Nexen brand tires, and charging me $856. I did not realize this, as I do not know anythign about Tire brands. I asked for replacements and they gave me what I thought was real replacement tires for a BMW.
On 06/11/2014, I attempt turn the car back to Braman BMW. BMW refuses to accept the car because the tires are the cheapest brand, and are not safe for a BMW. BMW was shocked any knowledgeable tire company would put cheap tires on a BMW sports car that NEEDS special tires.
On 06/11/2014, I went back to The Tire Choice, who could not find my receipt, but found my car, name, and address in their computer system. In their computer system they put my car in as engine work totaling, $856. On my paper receipt it stated $856 in tires....
Matt, another sales agent said he was sorry for the error and he would call his manager to allow me to pay an additional $400 to ge the correct tires installed.
On 06/12/2014, I still hadn't heard back from Matt. I went to the store around 1430 hours and spoke iwth Matt and Ivan. matt said his manager was on vacation and the only solution was for me to pay an additional $1200 for the tires I wanted in the first place!!
I truley believe the sales people, or business are scamming customers, by havign them pay for tires, charging 200% in mark up cost, and then entering it into the computer as a different job, so that money can be pocketed or taxed differently. Someone needs to brign awareness and stop this company. I have made numerous requests to have this matter attended to by owners of the store with no avail.
