Similar to many other persons, I began this journey of ripoffs with the First Select Travel agency.  After paying them money, I was referred to this agency, The Travel Center.  I had several questions and cannot begin to tell you how many times I attempted to contact them via telephone.  Their voicemail did not leave an option for "holding for the next person".  It merely stated everyone was busy and that you needed to call back.

 

So many restrictions on my travel plans had been stated, I was trying to find out what would be my bottom line cost.  Instead, after paying the "booking fee" I was referred to an additional travel agency.  At this point, I'm not sure a vacation (at any pirce) would ever be offered.  All I am doing is paying a fee (each with a different name) to an agency to get referred to another company.

 

I thought this would be a reputable company since the original information was supplied through my school district of employment.  I was so excited that I could visit my children that live out of state.  Instead, I have lost more money and still do not have anything in place to visit them.

 

Can anyone do something about shutting these ripoff companies down?  In reading the reports, I'm not the only person who fell prey and I'm sure I will not be the last.

Perhaps Mr, Owner a more accurate description of the services The Travel Center affords is the activation fee.  What Travel company denounces they are not responsible for any advertisement seen on their web site?  In your effort to hold on to decency, the titile above perhaps provide better insight for the services provided.   So many peices of paper with  names, date of births, addresses, and passport numbers of American Citizens. 

  Just wandering is the data on everyone available for a good price?

I'm sorry you are guilty by association.  Yes, you reached out to me and are providing me a refund of part of my fees.  I really do appreciate your response.  I'm glad to hear you are no longer doing business with First Select Travel.  I hope this will help others in the future.

However, I was still referred to you, who referred me to an additional company - Fun Time.  It's too bad you were not able to provide the trip or the "bottom line" cost for the vacations I thought I purchased.

The last post just like the few other posts says it all.

It all started with First Select Travel, not Travel Center or Fun Time.

As our last posts have stated, we are no longer accepting any travelers from First Select.

In the last persons post it stated that when calling Travel Center all the lines were busy, on that recording it also said, please send an email if all lines are busy.

We have 11 full time customer service reps which should tell everyone how many people we travel each week, in the hundredes.

Still as you can see there are only a few complaints and those complaints are as a result of those who purchased something from one single company, FIRST SELECT.

Lets evaluate..............how many of you eat at Mcdonalds..............but yet they have hundreds of thousands of complaints, but you still eat at McDonalds?

We at the Travel Center have done everything we can to explain what we do and how we do it even posting the documents that you had to sign and read before traveling with Travel Center.

We are sorry and we took the apropriate steps and discontinued accepting business from First Select Travel.

If you read all the documentation we provided you ( IF ), YOU WOULD CLEARLY KNOW WE ARE NOT AT FAULT.

Again what you were told by First Select and what our job was in that process were two different things, we were not in that conversation.
