The Travel Center and Fun Time Vacations deceitful and dishonest business practice Clarksburg Maryland
I attended a Travel Center Seminar in May 2014. I did not buy into the program and am now thankful I did not. I wanted to use one of the offers made available to me, specially, the 8 day/7 night offer. I followed the steps as requested but was treated in a deceitful and dishonest manner. I submitted a request for a stay in Park City, Utah. I was emailed a price for this stay of $236.88 per person. I accepted the offer and I faxed back my authorization to charge my credit card.
I then was informed the price doubled to $410.52 per person. I withdrew my authorization and declined my acceptance of the offer. I went through the process of requesting a refund but was told I cannot get a refund. I believe the vendor broke the contractual agreement by changing the original offer. If I changed the contract I would be charged a fee. This company did not stand by its original offer and then refused to give me my refund.

First, I never requested an airline ticket.
Second, maybe I have been incredibly lucky, in over 30 years of travel throughout the USA and over 100 countries, when a price is agreed upon that is the price I was charged, no matter if I used my credit card or sent a check in the mail or booked directly with the service or through a travel agent.
The origianl email stating the price of $236.88, also stated there was a secure site on the internet I could use immediately to pay for the booking but then was told there was no such online site. I had to fax back a form. In addition the original email states, " to confirm and finalize your reservation please reply to this email stating you accept the quote within 24 hours of receiving this email. If you do not respond within 24 hours the quote is void." I responded within 24 hours.
I was notified the price double after I faxed my authorization to charge my credit card. As I was traveling and did not have access to a fax machine, I was emailing the booking agent about my lack of a fax machine. At no time was I told the price changed prior to me finally locating a fax machine and the agent had my charge card number. Therefore, the gap between my accepting the offer and faxing my authorization was created by the Travel Center and Fun Time Vacations.
When I asked why the price doubled, I was told, the origianl price was sent to me by mistake with no mention of the hotel changing the price. In another email I was told, “the travel industry is not predictable, information regarding pricing can change within an hour.” If I was dealing directly with the hotel, I am sure, it would have stood by the first price.

The first quote that this person received was the quote given to our company by the Airline and Hotel.
By the time the client authorized the payment to the airline and hotel tha price had changed.
If the client would have read all the documents they received they would have read:
Due to the ever changing prices of travel we are not responsible we prices changing between the time you receive the quote and the time you authorize the booking.
I am sure if you have traveled before you have all experienced price changes unless you book it at that very second you received the quote.
If this was a scam then every travel provider in the world is scamming every customer that has a price change.
The documents also say that once we do the work to get you the quote there is no refunds.
Please keep in mind that both of the quotes this person received were great and it was the clients choice not to book.
