HOW DO I GET OUT OF  THIS MESS?

It was supposed to be a nice vacation with my boyfriend.  We landed in Mexico eager to get to our hotel and relax.  However, our time in Mexico took a turn we are unfortunately still living with today.  At the airport we were offered a free trip as long as we attended a presentation on a timeshare (Villa Del Palmar).  It sounded simple enough.  However, once we arrived at Villa Del Palmar, the salespeople loaded us up with Champagne, promises (we know now were crap), and "applause" as another reporter admitted, and before you knew it, we paid $8,500 for a Summer timeshare.  We feel extremely displeased not only with the way the salespeople go about their business, but with the service on the timeshare.  This is undoubtedly the biggest mistake of our lives!  We were scamed, conned, whatever you want to call it.  We are kicking ourselves in the head right now.  I tried emailing UVC, but am waiting to hear back from them.  When I called, they wouldn't even entertain a conversation about reselling this timeshare until our maintenance fees were paid.  At this point, we are desperate to sell it and be rid of any ties with UVC and Interval International.  I know that a contract cannot be valid if you are under the influence of alcohol.  How can these people live with themselves doing what they do?!  It's more than wrong.  It's unacceptable and they need to face consequences for what they did and what I imagine they are still doing.  I am even embarassed that I allowed this to happen to me but I finally feel like I can stand up and fight back.

I've spent a lot of money and i was scammed by other companies trying to cancel my timeshare. My advice is that if you're going to hire a company to help you with the problem, DO NOT PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT, because it use to be a fraud. I did a research on internet and i found some interesting articles, i recommend you to read this one:

There are many reasons why Mexico is one of the preferred destinations for vacationers, the weather, the beaches and the luxurious resorts. But many vacationers have fallen victims of timeshare scams by timeshare developers; an example is Villa del Palmar timeshare.

Villa del Palmar Timeshare Sales Practice has a well recognize reputation for the lies, scams and most likely to misrepresented the contract at the moment of signing. Villa del Palmar sales associate like any other sales person will tell you all the wonders you want to hear to make a purchase, most timeshare presentation last 90 minutes, but at Villa del Palmar you can be up to 4 hrs in there. Do not let their wonderful words lure you away, read the contract before signing, the contract clearly estates that any verbal promises made to the buyer that are not on the contract are invalid and that the purchasing of a membership at Villa del Palmar is not an investment, it only other way of saving for future vacations, it also states that if you wish to purchase the membership for the solid purpose of renting for profit, that you should reconsider your purchase of the membership

The only way I can communicate with UVC Members on this website is to submit a response on the site.  There was a response from the Developer that provided this Club Member with certain options and the member opted to proceed and was given satisfaction.  I rather doubt this satisfaction was achieved.  I have had dealings with UVC, the Villa Group Developer and ResortCom for the past 10 years and fully understand member frustrations.  I recently published a website addressing many issues and concerns (www.universalvacationclubmembers.com) and request you to read and respond.  The only way we as Club Members can gain strength is through communication and member involvement.    I am requesting the author of this article to contact me via my webpage and submit just what the Developer options were to satisfy the issues.  Thank you.
