Mr. Al Spann, from The Barn, was hired to weld some piping into a frame for picking up and loading heavy objects. The piping was purchased separately at another facility, and Mr. Spann was showed on a drawing what the specifications were and what was to be welded. The price agreed upon was $200.00.

When I went back to pick up and purchase the welded frame, Mr. Spann commented that he had seen these type of frames before, and didn't realize what they were utilized for. He said the price was $300.00. When I told him we had agreed upon $200.00 he said that had been a miscommunication. I told him I would not pay him $300.00 since we had agreed on $200.00, and he said he would keep the frame.

I believe he intends to sell this for much more and since I had purchased the piping; he has technically stolen from me.

When I filed my initial report on this site; I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I received notification they had received my complaint and would be contacting Mr. Spann in short order. The very next day Mr. Spann called me and said he would be more than happy to sell the product to me at the original agreed upon price of $200.00. With help from this site and the Better Business Bureau, Mr. Spann was nudged to make the right decision.
