I purchased a 2.00CT Diamond Tennis Bracelet set in 14 K gold with a total cost of 1,239.13 including state tax at the Arlington, Texas Whitehall store in the Parks Mall on June 19, 2001. I actually went in the store to get a ring guard which they didn't provide for me because the sales lady discouraged my buying one due to her claim that it would scratch my ring I had purchased in St. Thomas. She was more concerned of trying to convince me to fill out an instant credit report. I told her I did not come in there for that purpose, but she said you don't have to buy anything I just want you to let me check making me think she had a quota to fill for the day. Immediately the report came back and she started showing me tennis bracelets that she had on sale. She showed me the one I eventually bought first, then I looked at others and she went back to that one talking about how pretty the setting was. When she told me about the (6) months 0 finance, I agreed to purchase it. Before she could put it on my arm, she had to do a lot of adjusting to the clasp which now I know why because it was DEFECTED. I even asked why she had to do that and she replied that was nothing unusual to make adjustments to the clasp. Three days before the 3rd month, that bracelet fell off my arm while I was out shopping.

I never found it.

After I could not get anything done at the Arlington store, I wrote a letter to Hugh M. Patinkin, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President telling home about the defective clasp which I still owned obout $800.00 with the 0 finance charge deadline coming up in (3) months. He referred me back to the store which offered me a wholesale cost to purchase another one. I had not even finished paying for the one that fell off my arm why would I want to buy another one? I felt like they should have stood behind their merchandise due to the fact that that sales lady, InSun Scher, knew that clasp had problems.
