My nightmare began about 3 days after signing a contract with Thomas Flanigan to build a 30 x30 pole barn. Oh where do I begin. This business or crew have no concept of workmanship, quality, pride. They have one goal. Erect a very poor wood frame stucture, then cover it as quickly as possible to hide all the workmanship defects. When I point out the flaws in the structure, they just shrug it off and say " Oh thats normal". They could not even build a level roof, because the ground was unlevel. When I showed it to to them and they attempted to fix it. The fix was worse than the orginal. Their only goal is to get you to accept something that is totally unacceptable. I have countless pictures of the very poor quality work, but they are not really interested. Eventually I started to understand that they are not CAPABLE of building a proper structure. I did the only thing I can do. I fired them after they have $5600.00 of mine, but OH it gets better.
I payed 50% of total bill when material arrived. Thats $4057.00, then I was supposed to pay $3246.00 when the structure was framed and they were ready to put sheet metal on. I refused to pay the $3246.00, but somehow ( s**t am I stupid) I gave another $1600.00 when I heard the story about payroll. Naturally with the assumption they could fix all their errors. They can't fix it. They are incapable. They just don't know how! About one week after I fired them. The metal company Metal Central came knocking on my door. Apparently Thomas and or Shaune used a bad credit card to get the metal. Now the Central Metal is coming after me to pay for the metal I already payed for via Mr. Flanigan.. So Mr. Flanigan are running a complete scam, and have apparently done it numerous times. If you contact him, he will pretty much promise whatever you want and do nothing.
What was supposed to be an enjoyable experience of building the workshop of my dreams has turned into a total nightmare. So it could very well cost me another $3000.00 just to get someone else to do the job right, plus the outstanding cost of the sheetmetal that I might have to pay for TWICE becaus this crew had one goal. RIP YOU OFF!
